@RasmusJarlov They can't even get their own shit together and the orange leader has tanked the status and reputation of the USA in months.
English

I dont think US Americans understand how insanely repulsive this is. They dont even think of it. They dont understand that others love their countries as much as they love their own. They are deluded to think that they are exceptional and better than everybody and that everybody wants to be US Americans.
The reality is that this kind of threatening rhetoric of taking other countries makes people's blood boild and makes them hate the USA. The US Americans dont understand it, when they read how hated they are in the rest of the world, but this is why.

Hedgehogs are solitary animals so are silent - they have no need to communicate so don't have a 'vocabulary'. Even when in pain or fear they usually suffer in silence. The only time you'll really hear them vocalise is this time of year - mating season.
And it's only the girls who talk.😁
The male approaches the female and circles her, trying to mount.
The female turns to face him, keeping her nether regions out of his reach, and makes a chuff-chuff sound, telling him she's not interested.
She'll keep this up for hours, sometimes days, until she whittles down which of her suitors is the strongest, has the most endurance and energy, is the fittest and healthiest and most determined.
She wants only the very best to be the father of her precious babies.
Only when he's proved himself to be worthy, does the female crouch down and lay her spines flat, and allow him to mate.
Inexperienced males often need to use their mouth to hold on and get into position, so this time of year you may see females with a small wound on their back. There can be more than one winner, and she'll allow other males who have made the grade to mate with her also.
So the resulting litter can be hoglets with several different fathers, producing a truly diverse and healthy gene pool.
This genetic diversity within a population allows it to adapt to changing environments and resist diseases. Just one of the reasons our humble little hedgehog has survived for over 15 million years!🥰

Please NEVER feed a daytime wildlife casualty.
I know, it's so hard not to.
When we see a suffering animal we feel a strong, innate impulse to help, and a desire to provide immediate tangible comfort; equating food with survival and care.
Feeding feels like a direct, immediate and nurturing action to alleviate suffering.
Yet it is the most catastrophically harmful thing you could ever do.
Especially hedgehogs out in the day, who will be hypothermic.
It takes a lot of energy to digest food, energy these compromised animals just don't have spare.
Every last bit of their energy is being used to maintain vital bodily functions - to keep the heart beating, to oxygenate the organs.
Forcing energy away from these critical functions for something as non-critical as digesting food will be a death sentence.
It won't be immediate, it may take hours, or a couple of days, but eventually, no matter what the experienced rescue you later take them to tries, the animal is already on the unstoppable journey into shock, aspiration, organ failure and death.
So please help in the right way.
An out in the day hedgehog needs *contact* warmth, a safe indoor space away from flies, and cover to reduce their stress (please see advice below).
They are not going to die of starvation in the couple of hours between you finding them, and getting them to a rescue.😊
And please remember - any website that gives you DIY information on caring for or feeding injured or orphaned wildlife is, by default, wrong.
The ONLY right action is to get them to a good rescue (never a vet) where their complex needs can be met.
Even if you have seen this vital information before and understand it, feeding wildlife casualties is a powerful compulsion because it directly activates human instincts of empathy and compassion, often overriding the scientific advice against it.
So please remember this warning and spread it as far as you can.
Helping a wildlife casualty get to the expert treatment they need is an incredibly kind, altruistic act of great humanity. Just remember to provide them with what they need, not what you need.🥰

Lovely weather, isn't it?🌞
Unless you're a nocturnal animal who has to sleep all through the hot day, and wake at night to find no water.
No puddles.
No kind dishes.
Unseen.
Unthought of.
Just the tantalising smell of water from a pond you may drown in, or a drain you may get trapped in, or a stagnant, dirty old birdbath you may get fatal fluke from.
Hedgehogs need to drink a lot of water to stay healthy.
Please provide clean, fresh, safe ground level water for our precious wildlife. Tap water is best.
Pop a dish or two out tonight.
Keep it clean.
Keep it full.
Keep it saving lives.❤️

I'll never forget a lovely Polish Amazon delivery man saying, as he handed me supplies that had been sent from my wishlist, "More kindness for you."
And that's just what it is, when someone sends items or donates towards the cost of medicines - it's kindness in its purest form: an act of love that expects no reciprocation.❤️
Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, all those who help keep this little hospital running, and who hearten and energise me with their kind words of encouragement.
The supplies with notes are from Heather C, Mark, Amanda K, Victoria N, Rae D, Amanda M, cmb one, JoAnne, Mary M, Caroline H, Lorraine F, DT plc, Ray & Sue H, Amy C, Teia L, Kay W, Clive, Webbsixty6, Roberty B, Linda F, Christopher P, Laura C, Rebecca W, Jacqueline and in memory of her lovely dad Maurice Whitfield.
Here's a smile to start your weekend with:
A little family of orphaned babies being transitioned from formula and introduced to liquidised solid food.
Self anointing is something hedgehogs do when meeting a strange new smell they think is important and they want to remember.
They lick the new substance, create a saliva froth with it in their mouths, and then spread that all over their body.
And yes, it's fun watching and no, it's not fun cleaning them up afterwards.😁

Let’s be honest—the Premier is only selling because he got caught. He would have been happy to keep spending our money in secrecy.
People are tired of seeing this government use our taxpayer dollars like its own personal piggy bank.
Colin D'Mello | Global News@ColinDMello
BREAKING: Premier Doug Ford is selling the recently purchased $28.5 million Challenger 650 - days after the Premier’s office defended it. The purchase of the jet, dubbed the “gravy plane” by the opposition was met with fierce criticism. Statement: "Despite the best of intentions, I have heard and agree that now is not the right time for the expense of a government plane. The province is working with Bombardier and other partners to sell the plane as quickly as possible." #onpoli

Oh would you just look at this darling boy!🥹
When I came down this morning and saw the state of Gabriel's pen, my heart sank.
I thought he had relapsed.
It was trashed, and this usually happens when a hedgehog is in so much pain they desperately try running away from it, wrecking the pen in an effort to escape.
But when I reviewed the tapes (thank goodness for CCTV!) this is what I saw...
That little darling was trying to nest build!
Still so frail, yet feeling well enough to want to make his bed himself, the way he likes it.
But instead of picking up just the newspaper strips I'd left in for him, he was catching the pen liner and dragging that in too!😊

Not far behind Christian was Palmer, who also self admitted.
I've always suspected these boys to be brothers as they tend to appear together. Although hedgehogs are solitary animals, if there is enough food in the area (so no need to disperse) siblings sometimes stay together.
Like Christian, Palmer was last released in May 2025, and I haven't seen him since.
Palmer is about as sick as Christian, with roundworm and lungworm, but clearly the poor darling boy is feeling rough.
I just LOVE that they come home for treatment when they are in need.🥹
Treatment takes around 3 weeks, so both Christian and Palmer will be back out in the wild by Easter.

Perfect, beautiful little Christian self admitted to the hospital this week.
He is the absolute poster child for the message, "You can't judge health by appearances."
Despite looking so healthy, and his poo appearing perfectly 'normal', it is in fact teeming with adult roundworm which, as you can see, are full of even more roundworm eggs.
As is often the case, his first poo sample was clear. But parasites and their eggs aren't shed with every poo so it's neccessary to take a few samples.
Christian first arrived here last Easter, seriously ill.
I treated him successfully and he was released in May 2025.
I haven't seen him since.
Wherever he's been he was obviously doing well for himself, as he weighs well over a kilo.
But sadly he's recently picked up roundworm and lungworm from contaminated food or water somewhere.
And it moves me to tears that this darling boy knew to come back here to be treated.
These endearing, clever little animals are so very special.
