I never understand like how can caste based reservation alone wedge the gap between rich and poor? There are better instruments like land reforms, improving EoDB, education,health etc. Even the idea of rez was never abour giving representation. (1/2)

False equivalence in comparing caste-based reservation in Tamil Nadu with delimitation. The fact is that caste-based reservation in Tamil Nadu has helped improve the social mobility of deprived sections of society, thereby REDUCING disparities in prosperity between upper castes and lower castes. However, divergence in per capita income between South Indian states and North Indian states has INCREASED over the last 30 years, despite the Union Government reducing the share of South Indian states in Union resources.

This is how chinese build with no RoE & RoCE concerns. Copper treatment & refining charges brought to 0 cents by building huge smelter overcapacity. Similarly, alumina mkt had tightened in 24 with price 5400 rmb & today prices are below 2700 rmb & costs are 2686 rmb.

Copper is quite interesting. The mining has lagged & supply deficit can reach 30% by 2035. Lack of anticipation of demand & delay in bringing mining capacity being major reason. However, smelter capacity from China has risen massively collapsing their spreads. (1/2)

Don’t know who is saying it’s a golden age but few of his notable contribution is disaster management, paying salary to govt officials in time. Prior to him it was three months or so. He standardised few basic things. Just didn’t industrialise much.
