Upside of a BJP win in West Bengal is colossal while a loss has little downside.
One may think loss could be framed as "BJP threw the kitchen sink & TMC still won" but the 'kitchen sink' is just more fair elections *relatively* free from TMC gundagiri.
A BJP win will echo across India, not just West Bengal. Beyond national security concerns in a border state, slaying a regional stalwart like this is massive.
Also a new BJP state unlocks investment opportunities furthering competitive federalism within India.

problem with a slowing economy in an election year is that not much will happen in the H1 policy-wise, and any response if it even happens will be in Q3, and by the time it starts showing some effect, we will be in the next year. basically, we are on autopilot on econ policy

tax cuts are the worst way to nudge it cause companies would rather increase the costs to boost their margins than pass the benefit to consumers, and that’s what happened in the case of GST cuts as well

@Vibenest1 @swarajk_ Yes but that's how it happens everywhere. Nudge theory itself works this way. If you want public A to buy a good x. Simply reduce the prices of good X. One way to do it is cutting taxes
