Thrilling to see a nineteenth-century flower making kit at the @V_and_A Prints and Drawings room yesterday! The green pigment contains arsenic so it has to be handled very carefully. I’ve never had so many people peer over my shoulder in a reading room!

This little pleated gem is actually a miniature pleated dress, a c1950 reproduction of a late #1940s #JacquesFath couture design. It is a quarter scale, made so that when the pattern was sold to wholesalers, this mini version acted as an exemplar @V_and_A #Fashionhistory
