@robbyengle @Shaun_Frank True, but so many electronic pop artists with "longevity" launched their careers with copycat covers/remixes. Jonas Blue, Kygo, Sigala. Definitely not saying these are the benchmark, but for a new EDM artist, it can feel like the only way to get your other music heard!

@Shaun_Frank It’s definitely because it’s easier to make a quick buck that way, but if an artist takes their career seriously my advice is never to chase a quick buck :)

I’ve listened to 40 new songs in the last hour and 9 of them were covers. 8 of those were basically just the original song with EDM elements added. This is BAD for dance music culture. Artists/labels: Please consider your career longevity and be creative, it will pay off.
