JAKne? Systematic review &meta-analysis (25 studies, 10 839 pts), JAK inhibitor use was associated with an elevated odds of acne (OR 3-5 for UPA, TOFA, BARI, Deucra; but higher for abrocitinib (OR 13.5). Seen in Derm pts but hardly at all in Rheum pts bit.ly/3S8RP63

Ultimately, the majority of patients with AA are healthy & elevated risk is in context of low absolute rates. Will treatment of AA help reduce comorbidity formation? Maybe-but given uncertainty I wouldn't make decisions on meds for any benefit other than goals for hair growth.

This study confirmed elevated risk of #vitiligo, #lupus, and #thyroiditis while providing some nuance to cardiovascular and diabetes risk. Too many findings to list here, but take a look at the figures!
