Think about it: how much buildup did Thanos have before Infinity War? His only prior appearances were The Avengers, GOTG, and AOU. All were cameos.

I think a lot of missing characters like Strange and Wanda won't be in any of the trailers or promos because they likely won't pop up until the last 3rd of #AvengersDoomsday and might actually be on HIS side. Or... they'll bring them back in Secret Wars.
