@LeeFMc83 Monday nights are nearly all down to not being in Europe. No team in Europe can play on a Monday in a European week which puts United and us as the biggest picks for TV. Hopefully different next year if we qualify

At this point I’m almost certainly not going to renew. I have my daughters every Sunday and Monday nights so 7 Monday fixtures in a season, on top of Sunday ones is ridiculous and renders having a ST almost pointless, certainly not cost effective. It’s a disgrace.

@Nathan1reid @Everton 3 of those games involved Chelsea, Spurs and Man Utd who were playing in Thursday European games either side of the weekend so couldn't play on the Monday. City and Everton aren't in Europe so was obvious choice for Monday

@ANCBlues @Everton So last May bank holiday there was 4 Sunday games, so makes no difference does it really, feel like people are likely to watch the football on a Sunday knowing they’ve got the Monday off, not going to be watching 8pm games when they’ve had a busy weekend and in work next day

The Appeal panel then pivoted to state a sporting advantage had been gained to justify the points deduction. Wider view - punishments being made up as they went along

In 2024 Chelsea received a €5m add on bonus from Real Madrid as a result of Real reaching the Champions League final for the sale of Eden Hazard. Hazard had retired from football in 2023 and Chelsea earned €150m from the deal overall. According to the Premier League negotiated settlement with the club Chelsea received no on field advantage from signing Hazard from Lille for €35m in 2012 and therefore a £10m fine was appropriate rather than a points deduction.
