Next time you have an issue, call me. You don’t need to go telling tales and consuming officer time with tittle-tattle
Cllr Lee Scordis@LScordis

@nickycash @russellquirk Nope, I was abroad and with 9 years experience would not need to attend an opening 'how-to' meeting. I have complained to standards as Mr Quirk has broken several rules here.

@TVKev @LucyTCWife No not cynical. You're just demonstrating that you don't really care about integrity in public office. Stop pretending that you do.

@PnlChelsea Should’ve said ‘not a single pro independence supporter has given a realistic answer’ better?

Thank god enough people voted for pro onion parties because not a single pro Welsh independence supporter has ever answered - 1. Wales has a fiscal deficit of £21B a year, meaning we spend £21B more than we raise via our own taxes in Wales. How do we replace the £21 billion we receive from Westminster? 2. Is it by raising taxes or making cuts? 3. Independence would likely wipe out 95% of DVLA, military, royal mint and civil service jobs as we go from the demand of 70m people to 3m people. How do we replace those jobs?
Dan Thomas MS@DanWalesReform

Reform is leading the opposition here in Wales. We will work hard every day to make sure your voice is finally heard in the corridors of power.

@EdFinch424580 @psmit47211920 @weezer316 @afneil Well the people who cared were the ones who were arguing who was at fault for the debt. A conversation you and I joined. And while Labour's spending may have been higher than many would have recommended, the Tory party at that time weren't among 'the many.'

@PnlChelsea @psmit47211920 @weezer316 @afneil All this whataboutery. Tories, Labour, who cares? What i care about is the facts that dictate whether competent governance takes place. Labour spending was probably not "out of control" before 2008 but it was certainly higher than many would have recommended. It doesn't matter

This is economic ignorance of a high degree, even for my old mate Diane. If you don’t want to be ‘dominated’ by the bond markets then don’t borrow £3 trillion from them. Be honest with the people and explain how your idea of socialism will entail EVERYBODY paying a shed load more in tax. If you can’t do that then you will be in hock to the bond markets. It’s as simple as that.
Novara Media@novaramedia

"If the British government is going to be completely dominated by the bond market, MPs might as well go home." Diane Abbott told Cathy Newman on Sky News that whoever replaces Keir Starmer as prime minister must go through a "properly organised selection process", regardless of any "hissy fit" made by the bond markets. When this provoked laughter from Newman and eye rolling from former Conservative cabinet minister Gillian Keegan, @HackneyAbbott argued that there's no point in having a parliament if the financial sector always has the final word.

@RhysCarefree I'm not saying whether I like the answer or not. What I am saying is that there have been answers given when your contention was that 'not a single pro independence supporter' had ever given one.

It’s like you asking me ‘can you afford a Lamborghini?’ ‘Yes, as the repayments are only £10 a month’ If you like that answer fair enough. It’s both, because to borrow you need a good economy, and to continue spending at the current rate we’d either need to increase taxes on businesses and people or we’d make huge cuts because we’re currently £21 billion off

@RhysCarefree They have answered the question. It's just you don't agree with the answer. It's the size of the deficit you've made a big deal of when arguing against Welsh independence, not the ability to borrow. Make your mind up here.

Well no, because they haven’t answered the question, they’ve provided fantasy figures. You can’t put that forward as a serious answer because it’s nonsense. Yeah the UK deficit also increased, but their GDP and size of the economy allows greater borrowing than ours would. Another thing the pro independence don’t like talking about is how we pay off our % of the national debt when we take it on. Like I said, it’s an absolute non starter

@EdFinch424580 @psmit47211920 @weezer316 @afneil What happened after 2007 isn't the point though. The Tories were committed to matching Labour's public spending before the financial crash and then put the narrative out there that Labour's spending was out of control before 2008.

@PnlChelsea @psmit47211920 @weezer316 @afneil Something happened just after 2007 that fundamentally changed everything. Can't for the life of me thing what it was. Also, don't take me for a Tory cheerleader. I won't be voting for either labour or tory after their record in govt over the last 30 odd years.

@EdFinch424580 @psmit47211920 @weezer316 @afneil Did you hear the Tories saying Labour was spending too much? Osborne pledged to match Labour's public spending for 3 years back in 2007. Or has it been convenient for you to forget that?

@psmit47211920 @weezer316 @afneil Always makes me laugh when people say Cameron and Osbourne massively increased the national debt - they inherited a situation where the difference in annual spending commitments verusus tax revenue was a deficit of 10% of GDP a year!!!

@RhysCarefree Errr yes. So contrary to your original tweet that stated that not a single pro independence supporter has ever answered, I presume you're now happy to accept that was nonsense then? And yes the deficit has increased since then. Guess which other deficit has increased as well 😉

No, you’ve used an article written by a known politically bias group that want independence, using old figures (£14 billion deficit in 2020, which is now over £20 billion) They then site an article written by Prof John Doyle, Which is a paper that the pro indi movement always points to, which is also highly contested and not definitive evidence. It was commissioned by a pro-independence party, so it’s not independent in funding or purpose. He assumes negotiation outcomes that are unknown in reality and is based on a best case scenario, also claims the deficit may be as low as £2 billion, in short, it’s nonsense.

@clarescastle Losers consent allowed those who pushed the ridiculous idea the time to come up with something that would allow the UK to prosper. The clowns that pushed it couldn't even agree amongst themselves how to do that. You voted for a disaster and you got it.

Brexit was about making our own choices on all issues, and spending our money as we chose. It was voted for by the majority, and necessitated leaving a supranational body. It is the continuing lack of loser’s consent that has been so damaging. A negative image of our choice is constantly promoted by the losers; obsessed politicians, lazy civil servants and a partisan media. @TimesRadio

@tony_aurelius @llllllukew @kca0027 How much more mental gymnastics do we want to indulge in here? His foot in that still is literally touching the ball. The moving picture shows the touch. The moving picture of your angle shows his touch as well, just not as conclusively.

@PnlChelsea @llllllukew @kca0027 Mate, it's literally impossible to gauge contact from the angle you deem 'conclusive' because his foot blocks the line of vision, from the new angle it's clear maddison makes contact first and was fouled 🤷
