One thing I've noticed in a lot of the coverage after last week's defeat is the somewhat blasé attitude to qualification for Euro 2028, as if we're guaranteed to be there. I wouldn't put your money - nevermind mine - on Scotland and/or Wales not slipping up in qualifying for it.

@pyjamas_black He's always worth a listen. Particularly throughout this campaign he's been very good at analyzing the performances of coaching team in a way some other ex-players/team mates of the current coaches were unwilling to do.

@pyjamas_black Honestly comes across terribly every time he opens his mouth. You might think his *loudmouth, opinionated presenter " shtick is an act but it's clear in every interview he gives just how awful a bloke he is and there is no act in what we see on screen.

Incredible that dodgy boxes seem to be bigger news than anything else happening in the country. Not a day goes by where at least one of the major news publications in the country isn't publishing an article about them.

Luck and injuries play a part but a huge problem with the Irish men's football team is too many players spending far too long in the second tier of English football. More need to follow Troy Parrott's lead.

@pyjamas_black Good performances - Coleman, Collins, O'Shea, Molumby, Ogbene, Parrot.
Rest ranged from ok to poor. Subs didn't really improve anything, with Brady in particular having a terrible game unfortunately.

Agree and I thought Molumby was good. Collins had one of his best games. Ogbene is basically irreplaceable. Azaz should be played centrally or not at all because there is a gaping hole from Molumby to Parrott of just nothing.

Haven’t seen a lot of people talk about Dara O’Shea. Great performance from him last night and one of our only players who can hold their head up high

@Kavo1890 Yeah I know the chance you're referring to. It was pulled back by O'Dowda and was slightly behind/under his feet. I wouldn't class it a sitter when compared to what Hourihane produced in that game.

Had the match won not once but twice - and managed to lose it. Had a sense of dread when I saw Alan Browne coming on. Missed a sitter from 5 yards in Slovakia play off that doomed Kenny reign from the start. Ah well

@FrankieByrne9 Officials were very harsh on us (bar the penalty they awarded us) and lenient on them e.g. Czech players consistently and deliberately playing the man instead of the ball. Which led to Szmodics getting knocked unconscious

@FrankieByrne9 The Czechia player wasn't getting the ball and Browne didn't need to back into him. I agree it was very soft though.

Threw that away. 2-0 up, much better team, give away two absolutely inexplicable fouls to concede both goals. Czechia genuinely rubbish, one of the most agricultural teams I can ever remember us playing against. At least with Parrot and (a fit) Ferguson, future 's bright #COYBIG

I, for one, am glad we've done the right thing and boycotted the Infantino/Trump World Cup. A noble stand by Ireland yet again.
