In Sweden, members of parliament make $80,000 USD a year. If they live outside of the capital city, they stay in governemnt owned studio apartments when in Stockholm. They are expected to cook their own meals, they don't have private drivers or cars and they use public transport. In Australia, senators like the unelected Fatima Payman pocket a base salary of $240k, add 15.3% superannuation, and an unlimited expense account where they can charge anything like Fatima's investment property in Canberra that she charges taxpayers $310 per night to stay in, or the $120,000 she's billed to taxpayers in family travel entitlements for her relatives to fly in and visit her. Entering public service shouldn't make politicians rich.

In her opinion, we get too many cuts for medicine as well. Anything that we are entitled to as tax payers, she wants abolished. That’s her voting record. She wants all the big corporations to own all of it, and run it all for profit. So all the things her voter base needs, she’d take away if she could. But her voter base is too stupid to take notice. So let’s just take the easy scapegoat option, and blame immigrants for everything that’s wrong in this country. Because that’s easier than looking at her voting record.
