This morning at @CommonsHealth, we heard moving testimonies from @Emma4facs and @JanetWilliams99 about the impact of sodium valproate on people's lives. Our session was following up on the Government’s response to the ‘First Do No Harm’ report from 2020.

APPG co-chair @JuliaCumberlege gave evidence to @CommonsHealth on the implementation of @IMMDSReview report. She gave an update on the progress implementing the report.

@JuliaCumberlege also welcomed the commitment from the Patient Safety Minister @mariacaulfield that she would work with the @PSCommissioner to consider the issue of #redressschemes

@JuliaCumberlege pointed to the welcome appointment of Dr Henrietta Hughes as the @PSCommissioner but stressed the need for her role to be sufficiently resourced in order that she is able to fulfil her role’s broad scope.

@JuliaCumberlege told @BrineMP that "some progress has been made… but it has been very slow and there hasn’t been nearly enough done because there are still 4 recommendations to be looked at and 2 have been rejected."
