The Canberra Raiders side in 13th place on the ladder. They host the Penrith Panthers in Canberra on Sunday. If they lose, will Ricky Stuart's position FINALLY come under the spotlight? He has been there for 12 years. How much more time does he need? #RugbyLeague #NRL

I see Liam Hehir is trying to do a lot of heavy lifting for the National Party. It shows how much trouble they are in.

Having millionaires is a good thing. Billionaires is better. Trillionaires would be amazing. But how they become this is important. Via hard work and creating value is what we want. If you meet a millionaire or billionaire, shake their hand and thank them for creating prosperity.

@PeterMcCormack @UltrawokeMK so, what is it dickhead- either you simply cant pay a decent wage and have to close or you're a multi millionaire? Ghoulish disgrace

A minimum wage of £15 would end my coffee shop, it would have to close, as would many other businesses. I’ll explain for the economically illiterate. Staff costs are currently half our costs, a £15 minimum wage is actually more than £15 an hour for the company, because you have to add: - 12.07% holiday - Sick pay - Maternity pay if and when required - National insurance - Pension contributions These costs would mean the shop loses money because remember, energy costs are up, rates are up, regulations are up. Now you can pass these costs onto the consumer - that would mean charging a lot more for coffee, people won’t pay it. The likes of Starbucks and Costa can, because they have economies of scale. The independent doesn’t. Now the little socialist will say well this is your fault, if you can’t run a business that can afford to pay its staff properly, but the little socialist has never run a business and does not understand the dynamics. Now I could pay some staff off and fill those hours myself or reduce us to one staff member during certain periods - but this proves the point that a minimum wage costs jobs. There was a time when these jobs were done by kids, perhaps on the weekend, paid a lower wage, no holiday and no silly employment rights. Perhaps they were even paid cash. The dynamic worked and small businesses like this could operate. It was also a great first job. Sadly now it isn’t worth employing entitlement youngsters at this level of pay. So alas, I don’t need the stress, the business would close, a number of jobs would be lost. Economics is about understanding these dynamics, no vibes. The cost of living is not solved through passing on inflation to the business, it is solved by ending high inflation and creating prosperity. This is what socialists don’t understand, they can’t create prosperity, they can only destroy it.

The Greens will raise the minimum wage to £15 for all workers 💪

@PeterMcCormack Then, it seems pretty obvious you'll have to close your coffee shop pal. You cant afford to run one.

No one in Australian cricket is celebrating the collapse of Cricket Australia’s plans to sell stakes in every #BBL club. Instead, they are counting the cost. "How do we keep getting into this mess?" one asked. theage.com.au/sport/cricket/…

Charlie White and James Graham (Bye Round), plus the Hello Sport boys and Levels Podcast duo Willie Mason & Justin Horo are in PNG right now after being invited by Michael Chammas to tour the facilities. Smart move to get influential voices on the ground. Chammas knows exactly what he’s doing here. Apparently a private jet was involved too… not sure if this was a joke or not (@TripleM_NRL)

Dogs had 12 penalties / six-agains and had 36 tackles in the Cowboys 20m in the first half and Ciraldo was blaming the ref? Said sometimes six-agains don’t help? One of he or Gus will be out this year if this continues - Ciraldo is showing signs of cracking.

telling a room full of retirees that a higher superannuation age would 'help the government' is the kind of political nous and communications finesse that's led to the PM cutting back his media engagements as much as possible (also, the 'savings' is 0.5% of GDP/yr in 20 years)

@Tedeschi8181 If you think that is our problem u don’t watch football. Our attack was garbage last year also. When you have no speed options you have to play with a narrow field. These players just aren’t up to it.
