The AI glasses bubble could burst as soon as within the next six months. Take a close look at Meta’s Q4 guidance for Reality Labs — overall revenue is trending down, and while the glasses segment is showing solid growth, it’s still far from the explosive trajectory many were expecting. It may be enough to support early market optimism, but not the kind of momentum needed to sustain the 2026 expectations. Another one or two quarters of data will make that clear. As the Ray-Ban Meta glasses hit their sales ceiling, the market will likely enter a long flat period — growth slows, hype fades — and stay that way until Apple’s glasses launch. As for Meta’s other “new models”? Ray-Ban Meta already captured the biggest crowd. What’s left are smaller, niche audiences — not enough to drive another breakout. Just like the Quest cycle — a big spike, followed by a long stretch of digestion. Only after that will the next real wave begin.
