Vance is my favorite author, I’ve read everything he wrote, and this is one of my favorite series of his.
Vance is unique, an unmatched prose stylist and one of the most imaginative writers ever.

One of the greatest, but almost unknown, science fiction series is Jack Vance's "Demon Princes. It's just five books long, and each book checks in at around 200 pages each. The hero, Kirth Gerson, was orphaned in his youth when five pirate lords combined to destroy his home world. Now grown to manhood, and having learned all manner of talents & techniques - he's basically a one-man super spy and killer - he is going after the pirate lords. Each book focuses on how he takes on a different pirate lord. 1/7

The artist’s own take on this masterpiece…
Artist Daniel Horne said the scene on this cover painting for Dragon magazine 126 "Takes place on a frozen tundra. The sun is setting, the hoar frost is glittering like thousands of pieces of broken glass."
A ranger in the service of the High King has just been attacked by the undead remains of one of her old opponents - a frost giant who has waited a long time for this moment of revenge. Having lost her sword and used up her normal arrows, the ranger has a single elven arrow left - from which comes the painting's name: "Saving the Best for Last."

It would be interesting in a renaissance tech level game.
I don’t recall that style being historical.
Cloak and dagger was generally hiding your dagger beneath your cloak to facilitate a surprise assassination attempt.
I’m not sure how you’d get everything sorted out in a timely fashion if you had to get your cloak and dagger sorted in one hand and your rapier in the other.

@ARRGETSTUFFED 👍🏼
It's my understanding that there was a specific style using daggers with a heavy cloak.
But I might be misremembering.
I just thought it might be interesting for an RPG
