First up from the birthday comic haul, Norm Breyfogle Batman. I’ve said many times that Aparo is my favorite artist, but I adore Breyfogle’s Batman. Sleek, stylized and distinctive. Ironically, there is very little Batman in this issue.

Happy birthday to Eisner and Eagle Award winner, Blade, Nova, The Black Cat, New Teen Titans, Deathstroke, The Vigilante, The Omega Men, Crisis on Infinite Earths and Tim Drake co-creator, Tomb of Dracula, Amazing Spider-Man and Fantastic Four writer, "Marvelous" Marv Wolfman.

While recently visiting Sydney I visited my daughter who is an an outdoor education instructor at the same location both my wife and I worked at 25 years ago. The angophra costata is a local eucalypt tree. Absolutely beautiful. They have a habit of dropping limbs, or ‘widow-makers’ without warning.
