L.A. is one of the most diverse cities on the globe so it is only fitting that one of the original founders was from the Philippines. In a metro area with more than half a million Filipino people, we celebrate Antonio Miranda Rodriguez. Let’s get into it!

Tile Fever came for an impromptu tour today. Their first project with our concrete product was a huge success. They purchased the tile pre-sealed. 👏🏽👏🏽 TileEverything and pre-seal your Artillo concrete tile.

Palm tree in the foreground. Gorgeous homes on the Santa Monica Mountains in the background. L.A. River in between. I’m wearing a t-shirt & shorts at 8:30am. These are some. reasons why, despite its flaws, I can wake up every morning and love L.A.

Cher in Armenia, 1993 🇦🇲 On Cher’s birthday, we look back at the trip that brought the Armenian-American icon home. In May 1993, Cher (Cheryl Sarkisian) traveled to Armenia on a three-day humanitarian mission organized by the United Armenian Fund. She flew in on a rickety DC-8 cargo plane carrying roughly 45 tons of medical supplies, books, printing equipment, and toys, including Glitter Beach Barbie dolls, to a nation still recovering from the 1988 Spitak earthquake and enduring blockade, darkness, and economic hardship during the First Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Liberation War. Conditions were grim. She slept under worn blankets in an unheated hotel and searched for bath water that came once a day, yet she pressed on. At Yerevan State University she stood before nearly 1,000 students and told them the most important thing she could do was show the world what Armenia looked like. She toured orphanages and hospitals, handing out gifts and meeting families living the daily reality of her ancestral homeland. At one orphanage she sat cross-legged on the floor as children recited the Lord’s Prayer and sang the Armenian anthem, hugging every child and making sure each one felt seen. The trip, she said, made her “feel Armenian” for the first time, and she spoke of her wish to “bring a face to the name Armenian.”
