Now that y'all are seeing my posts again, here's 7 tips on how to survive & thrive 14 years of business without loans, investors, and failure. 1. Your business partners matter. Focus more on philosophic alignment than talent. 2. The early days should feel exhilarating. Test as small as possible that feeds that high. If it's not coming, try something else. 3. Growth is best done when it's subsidized. Superior organic content is one way. Word of mouth from a great product is the other. Acquiring customers for $0 or less is a massive unlock. 4. When times are good, pull money out of the business. Very rarely do companies always go up and to the right. Having cash helps you handle the dark days. 5. When you (& partners) own it all, you make the calls. You don't have to constantly grow, you don't need a huge team. Build a company that you enjoy. 6. The business is for you, you're not for the business. Having it allows you to invest more time in the things you love like your family, health and hobbies. 7. Selling your business to fix your problems is not leveling you up. You sell when you're ready for the next thing.

I was waiting for an uber at LaGuardia the other day, and thought it was interesting that Uber Black now has its own separate waiting area. So, I took this photo. An older gentleman standing next to the photo asked why I was taking the picture, and I told him I thought it was interesting that there is a separate area for uber black. He asked why take a photo then. I told him I wanted to post it on social media for other people to see. He freaked out. Got weirdly scared. And told his family to get away from me.
