1) A lead guard (Ja or someone in the draft if they move on)
2) Ty Jerome (the scorer off the bench/6th man I’ve been begging for)
3) Javon Small (developmental guy)

@chriman_ I agree completely. Justification in my mind is the Grizz will say he was part of the “return” for Jaren so they will spin that as long as they can. Lot will depend on the lottery balls (I hate that) and the offers for Ja/Ty this summer vs the deadline

a. did the Grizzlies really trade a DPOY All-Star to rebuild around a center who has needed two lower body surgeries in the same part the same year or did b. the grizzlies really pivot to a rebuild because without Edey they didn't think they could compete

@buckets_BCM @JWinters489 I think they are both promising players. I have major concerns that ZK blew up the last era that we never got to see through due to injuries - yet he seems focused on building around 2 players already missing time with injuries. Did he learn anything?

Ehh couldn’t disagree more really. Ced and Edey are the building blocks and this is simply protecting one of them in a bad season. What’s the point in rushing Edey back when we are tanking? When he plays, he dominates - his film agrees with that take. Something we don’t need this year to move up in the lottery.
Get a top 3 (or 10 basically) pick alongside Ced and Edey, and this is a short rebuild.

If you didn’t see this coming with Edey, your eyes were closed. Clearly shutting him down for the season is the best option given how awesome he was when he played, and whatever discomfort he is still having. Suring up his ankle for the summer and next season is as good of a reason as any. (Though the deltoid ligament is inherently a very thick and very stable ligament for what it’s worth… 🤔)
