Just in from @ellee_watson of @CBSNews - A U.S. official confirms American forces have conducted a few additional strikes on military targets in Iran today "to eliminate emerging threats." The strikes so far today have hit a small number of targets, according to the official.

Actually the 2020 Dem primary debates were the most important moment in modern American politics and 2028 should build on that model by doing a debate every week in all 50 states and territories for over a year straight. No undercard either. I want 50 people cross talking.

I’m not sure I would go with most important, but if I had a Substack (don’t and won’t) I would write something about how the 2016 primary never resolved and how 2028 in likely going to be the dramatic climax (conclusion?) of what is now a 13-year intraparty war.

Every day I realize that the most important event in American political history was the 2016 Democratic presidential primary. It is the ur-text, the Rosetta Stone.

Free throw rule is stupid but I’d be interested in a sudden death 2OT for the regular season (playoffs should remain unlimited OT)

I am an immigrant. I came to America 35 years ago today - yes, on the Fourth of July, 1991 - at 11 years old. Canada is next door but across that border is a different world from the Atlanta of the early 90s where I moved. Today, I am more American than I ever was Canadian.

But it is just as much about the fact that I deeply believe in America and want it to be more perfect for people who are here and want to be here. It’s a privilege to be earn a living trying to do that. Happy 250th to our special, generous, flawed, exceptional country.

For 6 months, I looked around for something else that could get me up In the morning like politics can. I failed miserably. I readily admit it is partially because I love the game.
