Pakistan's founder (Quaid eAzam) Muhammad Ali Jinnah was against the Balfour declaration and creation of Israel. On the UN partition of Palestine Mr Jinnah sent a letter to the UN and regarded that he was "shocked" by "the most unfortunate decision of the United Nations". The opposition to the recognition of Israel is etched in the foundations of the creation of Pakistan. It is fused with not only its Grundnorm and the rule of recognition, but also its social fabric and collective consciousness. It is weird that people are debating whether Pakistan should recognise Israel when Pakistan's foundational ideology (which was set by the father of the nation) was not even supportive of a two-state solution (a solution which has now incorporated itself as a policy somehow).
