It feels different to be on Stage.
When my friend Enrique asked me if I wanted to be part of the High Performance / boost panel, I immediately said yes.
To be honest, my impostor syndrome kicked in and I thought to myself “optimization and systems for high performance? what are you even going to speak about?” I know I have done a lot of things, but were they good enough to share with an audience? I had already made the commitment. That’s always a good first step to really go through things.
I didn’t have the headspace to think about preparing for the panel as all my attention was on everything my wife and I had to solve to make our trip to Australia possible. We had already purchased tickets for Vinh’s Stage workshop so the commitment was there. Another great first step.
I learned a lot of things during Vinh’s workshop and I got the opportunity to start crafting one of my stories, which just a few days later I got to try both things out in a real life scenario without feeling fully prepared. But hey, gotta get this done, right?
Truly applying the following:
- Experiences will teach you far more than any teacher could ever teach you.
- You doing the trying before the understanding will deepen the understanding.
- Don’t forget to have fun during the process.
And ohh boy, did I have fun.
Another quality rep under my belt and a lot of notes to improve for next time.
Both of these experiences were not planned in this particular sequence. I believe that when you consistently put yourself out there embracing the opportunities that you say you want and reaching out the uncomfortable in order to make those opportunities real, things will work out and align. Despite not always seeming that way.
It was an honor sharing the stage with you both Carlos and Nelly. Great minds, great personalities and great friends to have fun with!!

That’s BAD, n/c it has no design. It’s not always bad thing.
Justin Welsh’s best selling course are mostly him reading from slides and demonstrating - low production value but high information density.
But there’s also so great video course design. If you want your mind to be blown … check @AskVinh’s video.
If you want to see more advanced instructional design, @liveyourmessage has an excellent framework.
And if you want to do it right (including text) let’s talk.

Just today, 2 people told me about their terrible video course experience.
Basically the course creators were either reading the slides or going on & on without getting to the point.
No wonder people don't finish courses (especially video ones) 😅
