There have been excellent resources that have been shared in this X chat on encouraging kindness, compassion and respect. Teaching more abt media literacy education and digital wellness in online spaces helps to dispel disinformation.Focus on truths and critical thinking. #NCAP25

Teens tend to believe that they know how to be safe all by themselves but this is not always the case. MUSTS INCLUDE: direct conversations, sharing real life stories, showing 'to the point' videos will support the skills and knowledge needed to stay safer online.@c_todd #NCAPM25

More open and direct conversations need to be held with youth about what these apps do and how they can be used to threaten them. These talks also need to happen with parents/caregivers/educators etc so a greater level of understanding is present. @c_todd #NCAPM25

The developers of such 'Nudify' apps need to be asked and held accountable with respect to why an app like this needs to be in existence. @c_todd #NCAPM25

To protect young people from being blackmailed, awareness and education needs to be increased to the adults who surround young people in order for the appropriate safety conversations to happen. Without that knowledge, we are swimming upstream. @c_todd #NCAPM25

Generative AI is being used nefariously to create intimate imagery and exploitative materials that is used to threaten individuals. These situations of threats are not gender specific but can be created into a dangerous situation for anyone, especially children. @c_todd #NCAPM25
