Transfer Spotlight Series💡: RHP - Drew Whalen (JR) 2025 Stats at Western Kentucky: 81.2 IP, 3.53 ERA, 3.20 FIP, 26K%, 9BB% The 2025 campaign for Whalen was enough to land him the honor of C-USA Pitcher of the Year. He’s got a solid fastball with great extension that’s mostly 91-94 and reached 96, but his secondaries are the highlight of his 5-pitch mix. His low-80s changeup, which tunnels well with both his 4S & 2S and features great depth, held hitters to just a .168 xBA last season. Additionally, Whalen has heavily utilized a tight slider which he landed for 68% strikes and a mid-70s curveball with lots of depth which produced a whopping 72% whiff rate last season. With his strong physical makeup and experience against high level competition, Drew looks to be a workhorse for the Tigers in the 2026 campaign. Welcome to the Plains, @DrewWhalen12!
