What does education data look like in practice? 📚 In South Sudan, it starts in handwritten registers-where attendance, enrollment, and performance are recorded daily, often under constrained conditions. From 16–18 March in Juba, AU IPED, through #GPEKIX Africa 19, worked with the Ministry of General Education and Instruction to asses and strengthen their EMIS -grounding priorities in real classroom realities. As the youngest country in Africa, South Sudan is strengthening its education data systems, because better data means better education outcomes. Over the past 2 days in Juba, AU IPED (#GPEKIX Africa 19) worked with the Ministry of General Education to assess EMIS and conduct a system-wide diagnosis. From 16-18 March 2026, the AU-IPED will lead a technical mission to Juba, South Sudan, to support the strengthening of the country’s Education Management Information System (EMIS). The mission is implemented under the GPE KIX A19 Hub.
