In the State Assembly today, I received the following assurances from the Hon’ble Minister of @MahaForest • Leopards will NOT be proposed to be moved into schedule 2 from schedule 1 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 • NO license/ permit would be given to kill leopards. • A technical committee will be set up for a management plan for leopards and the animal- human conflict.

In the Assembly today, I raised the issue of the bogus “replanting” and compensatory afforestation of mangroves shown in survey 342 in Bhayandar, in order to cut 45,000 mangroves for the Versova Bhayandar coastal road. My demands were: 🚨 Stop the 45,000 mangroves from being cut 🚨 Organise a visit of a joint committee of the Assembly to the sites of mangrove replanting and mangrove cutting. 🚨 Set up an inquiry commission so that the officials of the Forest Department don’t mislead the Hon’ble Court, the Forest Minister and the civil society. Alternatives like tunnel or alternate routes can be achieved to protect the mangroves. Members of civil society have found that the @MahaForest is misleading the Hon’ble High Court on the so called plantation of the mangroves. #Mumbai #Maharashtra #Mangroves #ClimateAction

Yuva Sena core committee members met with the @MangroveForest to push for the opening of the Mangrove Park, that we made in Gorai. The government has kept it ready and closed for the people for the last 6 months. It’s important to open it up, even if the government has no time for citizens.

प्रभादेवी येथील स्वामी समर्थ क्रीडा मंडळतर्फे, महाराष्ट्र राज्य कबड्डी असोसिएशन व मुंबई शहर कबड्डी असोसिएशन यांच्या मान्यतेने आयोजित स्व. राजाभाऊ देसाई स्मृतीचषक राज्यस्तरीय कबड्डी स्पर्धेला आज भेट दिली. यावेळी सर्व सहभागी संघांना शुभेच्छा दिल्या. अशा स्पर्धांमुळे आपल्या पारंपरिक खेळाला चालना मिळते आणि नवोदित खेळाडूंना आपली गुणवत्ता दाखवण्याची संधी मिळते.

The Naigaon BDD Chawls work also started off along with Worli and NM Joshi BDD Chawls on 1st August 2021, in presence of the then CM Uddhav Thackeray ji. The first building has been ready for over 3 months and the government hasn’t found a date for “inauguration” and distributing keys. I had raised this issue earlier too, and had requested the cm to intervene and distribute keys. The houses are ready and those who will shift in, are staying in rent- wondering if they should renew their rent agreements or will get their homes. Finally, just as I declared my intent to visit and expose this delay- “sources” have declared they will inaugurate it on 16th of March. I hope now this converts to a real inauguration- and that the government has some time for citizens.

नायगाव येथील बीडीडी चाळ पुनर्विकास प्रकल्पाचे काम पूर्ण होऊन २ महिने झाले आहेत. तरीही अजून चावी वाटपासाठी शासनाला मुहूर्त मिळालेला नाही. ह्याविषयी मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ह्यांना विनंती करूनही ह्याबाबत त्यांच्याकडून उत्तर आलेले नाही. आज येथे भेट देऊन पाहणी केली. सध्या बाहेर रेंटवर असणाऱ्या रहिवाशांना रेंट ऍग्रीमेंटचे रिन्यूअल करायचे की नाही, असा प्रश्न पडला आहे. दरम्यान सूत्रांकडून माझी व्हिजिट लागताच माहिती मिळतेय की १६ मार्चला चावी वाटप होण्याची शक्यता आहे. तसे झाल्यास येथील रहिवाशांची प्रतीक्षा संपेल व गुढी पाडव्याच्या मुहूर्तावर आपल्या हक्काच्या घरात प्रवेश करण्याचा आनंद समाधानही लाभेल.

The assassination attempt on Dr Farooq Abdullah is not only disturbing but raises questions about the security apparatus of a protectee who comes under Z+ category of the Union Government protection list.
