@AVGrump

Just a guy who has worked in AV for 20 years. I like to talk to my friends on Twitter about things I like, such as AV, Disney, politics, and firearms. Just me.

@bennyjohnson Who cares? She needs to do something besides have witty responses. Maybe actually arrest and prosecute someone of consequence. Bondi is the worst aspect of this presidency.

Democrat Rep. Balint storms out in rage after AG Pam Bondi flips script and exposes her coverup of Bill Clinton's involvement with Epstein: Balint: "This not a game Secretary" Bondi: " I am Attorney General" Balint: " My apologies I couldn't tell." Bondi: "I was curious if you Congresswoman asked Bill Clinton that... I didn't see one tweet... not one when Joe Biden was in office about Bill Clinton. You didn't ask Merrick Garland anything about Epstein. Not once."

@chris_neto Navigating government bureaucracy to try to get 14 year old mission critical rooms replaced that can’t have down time. I’ve lead my team to make what improvements we can to ensure the systems stay up while waiting for approval to replace. #avintheam

@chris_neto Does this mean we’re back to Telepresence? Most meetings at offices done need to be meetings, and if you’re not gathering in person instead of each at their desks you’re doing it wrong and missing the point of “in office”. #avintheam

Q4 In workplace design, is experiential AV the big differentiator for employee engagement and culture? Can it link the in-office to the remote to feel more connected beyond video calls? #AVinTheAm #AVtweeps

@chris_neto The biggest problem is that is a very subjective term. It’s the same problem I had when Avixa went for “experiences”. There’s no objective definitions, so therefore anything can be tied to it and any conclusions can be reached that you want. #avintheam

Q5 How is experiential AV reshaping learning environments, and does it improve student engagement and retention? How important is faculty buy-in for the technology and their teaching style? #AVinTheAm #AVtweeps

@TheAVNetworkGuy @chris_neto Right there with you. Unfortunately I have found even fewer understand audio than networking, but it’s a race to the bottom.

@mattdscott @chris_neto That was kind of rolled into mine. Having a clear end will both get you paid and generate a repeat customer.

@chris_neto There’s a third division, Real Speak. That’s when you can break down a customer’s needs and talk to them like a normal person, without the sales pressure that comes from Sales Speak, or the trip into the weeds of Tech Speak. Requires deep knowledge of both to pull off. #avintheam

Q2 What’s your secret to making technical AV language digestible for non-tech audiences? Do you think there is a clear division between what is perceived as Sales Speak vs Tech Speak? #AVinTheAm #AVtweeps

@chris_neto The time it takes to produce a quality design package for them that will smooth the entire rest of the process if done correctly up front. #avintheam

@chris_neto The ability for a control system to configure itself with just a few simple questions answered. This has been happening for 15+ years, and always seems to go away a few years later as it’s learned that you have to stay on a very narrow path to make it work. #avintheam

@nancyblanchard Not sure where they are getting their increase in customer satisfaction claim. In my experience it confuses the issues leading to rabbit holes that make you start again, and generally leads to longer service times. Comcast and Verizon are two recent examples for me.

@chris_neto AI will continue the self-obsoletion of AV and will give a “good enough” experience. But it can’t actually hear the room as a person and is only as good as whatever programmer set it up. Installers will be nearly the last ones standing with real skills, the rest lost. #avintheam

@chris_neto In my experience, the innovation happens in design when trying to cash checks written by sales to the customer. Design has to make it actually functional and usable. #avintheam

Q5 Where does the real innovation happen—in the initial pitch, the design stage, or in how Services adapt in the field? Should design teams have a say in pricing strategy, or is that strictly a Sales conversation? #AVinTheAm #AVtweeps
