@chris_neto With more end-users present, dealers need to know the same information, or else we appear out of touch with the industry. Even if a dealer doesn't go to the show, we need to do the research and learn what is being released so we have an idea in what is going on #AVintheAM

Q5 With more end users now in the room, are events in general evolving to meet their specific needs? What about smaller regional events? Any shows stand out from the crowd? #AVinTheAM #AVtweeps

@chris_neto A4 - I like the smaller, regional shows that are closer. If it's a drive vs a flight, it's easier to justify sending more people. Also, less people crowding the booths trying to talk to people. #AVintheAM

Q4 What’s your honest take on AV shows, conferences, and roadshows today? Are they still delivering the value our industry needs? If you could add to the suggestion box for the ideal AV event experience, what would you change or add? Or leave as is? #AVinTheAM #AVtweeps

Q3 At citywide festivals, where pop-ups, lounges, and street activations replace traditional show floors, does the format encourage bolder AV tech experimentation than the more structured environment of a buttoned-up conference? And does that element of serendipity and unplanned discovery ultimately drive more meaningful tech insights than a carefully planned agenda? #AVinTheAM #AVtweeps

Q2 Trade shows often reward scale: bigger booths, bigger displays, bigger systems. Festival events focus on creativity and storytelling. Which of these do you think will appeal to the next generation of AV buyers & professionals? #AVinTheAM #AVtweeps

Q1 Traditional AV trade shows focus heavily on product launches. Festival-style events like South by Southwest focus on experiences. Which format do you feel better represents where the AV industry is actually headed? #AVinTheAM #AVtweeps

@amandevx @chris_neto I'll be honest, the times I have used AI to do actual AV Designing has been a very bad experience. I've seen regurgitation of spec pages, or bullet points. Many of which is often old, even archaic. Also, no real-world experience in actually using the HW #AVintheAM

@_AVAP @chris_neto Great points! Understanding client needs is crucial. What strategies do you use to assess what "good enough" looks like for different clients? At PrimeX Meta, we leverage AI to help businesses find that perfect balance without overspending. Would love to hear your insights!

Q4 In a rapidly changing AV landscape, what does “future-proofing your career” really look like in 2026? Do you pick an IT path, a creative experiential path, or a traditional AV niche path (audio, video, lighting, control), and does it matter? #AVintheAM #AVtweeps

Q5: How early in an AV career should professionals choose between specialization and becoming a generalist? What are your thoughts on career reinvention within the AV space? Have you seen it done successfully to stay in AV or just to leave the industry? #AVintheAM #AVtweeps

@HeatherIsUnsane Are you talking about at a user station? Like a lectern for a professor? Because that transition has been a slow rollout for many places. Many locations supported both for years, then slowly, VGA went away. Years after VGA disappeared from laptops.

@sirjustindawson Similar thing here than with the foldable phone. More tech in something means more things to go wrong. Here's a device that will constantly send the data of what's in your fridge to the highest bidder. Plus, I bet it will cost a fortune, and last maybe 5-ish years

@_AVAP @Samsung In 3 years time they'll have the quad-fold 🙄😂 I agree the prices are ridiculous for phones now. I rather spend $1000 on a laptop or tablet over a foldable phone.

@_AVAP #AV is part of the communication field and we need to do a better job of communicating. You're 💯 right. Call someone. Turn your camera on. We have the ability for that nonverbal communication and people don't utilize it. #AVinTheAM

Since I know I have many contacts on here that expand far beyond the MN area, I wanted to express that I know many people who have tried to post pictures and videos of things happening in Minneapolis that social media platforms have been taking down, claiming various reasons.
