Even before that part came out I thought this was a bad idea..
Las Vegas Locally 🌴@LasVegasLocally
An upstate New York school district has paused plans to put a $60,000 humanoid AI robot in classrooms after teachers found out the Las Vegas company that built it is connected to a sex doll manufacturer. A devastating blow to Las Vegas' burgeoning sex bot export industry.

@chris_neto Content development and management. People are often very creative with installing a cool system, with content day-1, but if your content doesn't change, it gets stale. To keep that wow-factor, content must be updated regularly, and sometimes that isn't cheap #AVintheAM
English

Q5: If you look ahead 2–3 years… what’s the biggest shift coming to the AV business model that people aren’t talking about enough? And be honest: Are we keeping up with our end users, or are we already behind? #AvintheAm #Avtweeps
English

@chris_neto I like to think the overall "outcome" is what determines the "AV Solution". The outcome is the final destination, but the Solution is how we get there #AVintheAM
English

Q4: Are clients still buying AV solutions… or are they really buying business outcomes now? How has that changed the conversation for you? #AvintheAm #AVtweeps
English

@chris_neto Dep on the needs of the client: some clients need systems that are overly complex, while others are single-purpose rooms. There are still many interoperability issues with some platforms that make some overly complex #AVintheAM
English

Q3: Is the industry doing enough to simplify AV for the end user… or are we still overengineering the experience? Does AV confuse Commodization and Simplification? #Avtweeps #AvinTheAM
English

@chris_neto Sometimes it's tricky. It's easy to measure time-loss with a down system, but I find it hard to show "if you spend $ X, you will get $ Y back" #AVintheAM
English

Q2: Are we doing enough to prove the ROI of AV… or are we still struggling to quantify our value to the business? #AVintheAm #Avtweeps
English

@chris_neto In general, yes, but projects come to us in many ways, depending on what the client's needs are. Some need us just for a small part of their project, some need us to do the whole thing #AVintheAM
English

Q1: Are we still in the AV “projects” business… or have we officially shifted into a services and experience-driven industry? What are you seeing? #AvintheAm #Avtweeps
English

@chris_neto When the content for the display doesn't match the display's canvas, it doesn't look very good. Content gets stretched, cropped, or letter-boxed. If the main display is for BYOD, staying standard 16:9 usually makes this easy. #AVintheAM
English

Q5 What's the biggest disconnect you still see between how much people invest in the display hardware vs. how much they invest in the content strategy for it? #AVinTheAM #AVinTheAm
English

@chris_neto Total resolution. Pixel-pitch is important dep on viewing distance. If your audience is 30+ feet away, does that display need to be 4K+? #AVintheAM
English

Q4 Name one display spec everyone obsesses over that matters way less than they think (brightness? resolution? pixel pitch?) #AVinTheAm #AVtweeps
English

@chris_neto What are you wanting the display to show? Use Cases? Mounting options? Viewing distances? All of these come into play when designing any AV system #AvintheAM
English

Q3 When a client asks "which display should I use," what's the first question YOU ask them back? How do you "right-size" a display today? Does today's tech limit your creativity to spec the "right display"? (ie nits, IP rating, heat, infrastructure) #AVinTheAm #AVtweeps
English

@chris_neto Anything above 100-inches should try and get an LED (in most cases). Use the proper math to figure out overall display size/pitch #AVintheAM
English

Q2 As fine pitch LED keeps getting less expensive, at what point does it just become the default answer instead of the premium one? How far away are we? #AVinTheAm #AVtweeps
English

@chris_neto In general:
<100" - Go with LCD
>100" - DVLED is ideal, smallest pitch you can see given the viewing distance if you can afford it. Projection if the budget/location doesn't allow
#AVintheAM
English

Q1 LED vs. LCD vs. projection in 2026: Is this even still a real debate, or has one clearly won for most use cases? If not, where is the debate today, and what will change the conversation in the future? #AVinTheAm #AVtweeps
English

@nancyblanchard Text is way too small. Someone needs to be taught DISCAS and %EH
English

#AVTweeps what do you think? When I’m walking in airport I want to easily see my flight.
Zach Griff@_ZachGriff
I *hate* these new flight information display boards. I first saw United roll them out. Now they're popping up at @DFWAirport. Why do we need to unnecessarily overcomplicate these things? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
English

@bchatchett @chris_neto Ah yes. When there is a middle-man that doesn't let the designer talk to the people who are the stakeholders. Apparently not enough people played the game of Telephone when they were younger and get why this is a bad thing. #AVintheAM

@_AVAP @chris_neto My favorite part is where the customer is kept from the conversation and consultants are the primary source of information. Makes for FANTASTIC results. #AVinTheAM
English

Q4: Communication is everything on a global stage. How do language, culture, and user expectations impact AV design for multinational organizations? #AVintheAM #Avtweeps
English

@chris_neto We need to get involved with showing high-schoolers and even middle school. Also, because AV is IT now, we need to make sure we are paying our people the same numbers that the IT people are making. People are often leaving to go to other IT roles for a many dif reasons #AVintheAM
English

Q5: Talent wins championships. Is the AV industry doing enough to develop a diverse, global talent pipeline? How are we at retaining talent? And where are we falling short? #AVintheAm #AVtweeps
English

@chris_neto Video def has the "wow" factor day 1, but if the content becomes stale, the system will stop being used. Those entry area LED walls that have the same content day-in day-out gets very boring. #AVintheAM
English

Q3: If AV were a World Cup tournament, which category would take the trophy right as perfected: UC, Broadcast, Display, AVoIP, Control, Audio, or Lighting? What’s your can't-miss best Future pick and why? #AVintheAm #AVtweeps
English

@chris_neto Not "regional", but each company has their own culture when it comes to their spaces. Some find it more acceptable for people to join from their desks, others expect everyone in an office to come to the conf room etc. #AVintheAM
English

Q2: Every country has its own style of play in the World Cup. Do you see regional differences in how AV is designed, deployed, or experienced across the country and/or the world? What stands out? #AVintheAm #AVtweeps
English

@chris_neto UC platforms for sure. Gone are the days of needing to get everyone into a special room, to talk to a special room somewhere else in the world because the HW Codecs were so expensive #AVintheAM
English

Q1: The World Cup brings the world together on one stage. What’s one AV technology or solution you think has the biggest global impact right now, and why? Which do you consider the great Unifier... AVoIP, UC Interop, Control systems, USB-C or other? #AvIntheAm #AVtweeps
English

@chris_neto I think the industry allows people in, but it's hard to break through the "noise" of some of the big boys. Clients have created standards, and to break into those is an up-hill battle #AVintheAM
English

Q5 Do you think the AV industry truly supports entrepreneurs and startups? Is now a good time to build something new in AV, and why or why not? Or does “we’ve always done it this way” still limit innovation, risk-taking, and that rebellious spirit? #AVintheAM #AVtweeps
English

@chris_neto We do that all the time @mechdyne. When I reach out to manuf when designing things, I often hear "that wasn't really designed for that, but I think it could work" #AVintheAM
English

Q4 When was the last time you challenged a “standard way” of doing things? What’s one area of AV where we need more independent voices right now? #AVinTheAm #AVtweeps
English
