@SteveWarneMedia Wasn’t even a challenge though. The war room called the offside.
English

I still hate the NHL's offside challenges. But if they're insistent on travelling back in time to wipe out goals, I think the rule should wipe out everything that happens after the missed offside, including penalty calls.
'Oh, but they wouldn't have scored that goal if the linesman had called offside by a millimetre properly.'
Well, the other team wouldn't have had to take that penalty if he had called offside properly.
And if the concern is violent behaviour going unpenalized, let DOPS deal with it later.
Or better yet, much better yet, kill the offside challenge rule.
English

@SteveWarneMedia The compromise to me is that a 5 minute major still stands. If they really are worried about guys taking liberties (which says a lot about what the league thinks of its players) then have major infractions stick and everything else be voided. Problem solved.
English

@mattbman @boglenn @spittinchiclets They never made a signal until after the offside review is his point. Nobody had a clue that was the call until he got on the mic and said it.
English

@boglenn @spittinchiclets It was called penalty shot on the ice, that's why Canes were on delayed penalty when the first goal was scored.
English

@spittinchiclets Make things right? What needs to be made right because a team scored while offside and still got a penalty shot because of a blown call by a linesman?
English

@jbeachbum40 @owenpanderson @BFW No he didn't. He was in the process of receiving the pass when he crossed which means he hadn't established possession in time.
League agrees too and it is their rulebook afterall. Give it a read.

Bruce Garrioch@SunGarrioch
League decision.
English

@BFW the hurricanes scored in the first ot. after a VERY long review it was deemed offside (it wasn’t). from a friend who was there, they wouldn’t let anyone back in the building.
English

@DRWUTDSOL @NYyrMDt @mattmurley19 That Makar play was a completely different play involving a tag up which is a completely different element of the rule.
English

@A_C0409 @NYyrMDt @mattmurley19 Ah that Mcdavid one was more egregious because of the bobble, there was a comparable one with Makar I believe a few years back that went the other way
English

@SensFan1984 @GraemeNichols Not a challenge because it's OT but King is still the goat regardless.
English

@DRWUTDSOL @NYyrMDt @mattmurley19 They showed an identical play called the same way a few weeks ago with McDavid, fwiw.
English

@A_C0409 @NYyrMDt @mattmurley19 Just saw the replay, tough call. As close as it gets lol. Probably doesn’t go that was if it’s a more skilled player
English

@DRWUTDSOL @NYyrMDt @mattmurley19 It's Staal. He doesn't establish possession before going in backwards, he's in the process of receiving the pass.
English

@NYyrMDt @mattmurley19 Makes sense, I’d have to see a replay for that then I was looking at martinook and was super confused cause he looked onside
English

@ChristianR0b3r7 @EverydaySens You can even see that by the time he gets within range to take him out Greig is passed him and the angle is from behind rather than sideways. He's already beat, so he takes him out.

English

@ChristianR0b3r7 @EverydaySens The rule is "from behind or on a clear breakaway".
He clearly had the step on the diving player and was going in alone..which is why the guy submarined him out of desperation in the first place. Learn the rules before yapping.
English

It was on a 9/18 run going into the playoffs.
Carolina clearly figured them out and shut it down. Zero adjustments. Not good enough.
Sara@SaraCivian
This senators power play is generationally bad lmao
English

@JesseGranger_ Blueline injuries are catching up to them.
Missing RD1, RD2 and LD3 as the 8th seed is not a recipe for success, especially with LD1 and LD2 still playing hurt.
English

@EverydaySens Svechnikov call doesn't happen if the Brady call doesn't happen before it.
Both were absurd.
English

Get real in the comments. Zero contact with the head. Gave his shoulder a shove.
To be impartial, I also hated the roughing call on Svechnikov. Let them play. Zero need for these calls.
Everyday Sens@EverydaySens
Brady got a penalty for this. We call this the playoffs? Just horrendous. #GoSensGo
English

@LasVegasCounsel @JesseGranger_ Looked pretty conclusively not in to me and I say that as a Sens fan.
English

@JesseGranger_ Problem with gloves is how you can overturn when not conclusive
English

@BizNasty2point0 Did you have that same energy when Sanderson got called to put Ottawa down 5 on 3 for a non existent trip?
English

@ryanwhitney6 @spittinchiclets Anddddd immediately two terrible calls.
You are an all time mush.
