To avoid #dehydration, it is important to drink plenty of water and replace electrolytes. While it may be tempting to grab any electrolyte drink, it is also important to check the sugar content. Too much sugar can increase #ileostomy output, increasing the risk of dehydration!

Magnesium oxide is a great laxative but not a great way to supplement magnesium orally in patients with magnesium deficiency due to diarrhea/high output. Reach for magnesium lactate instead! #SBSinIBD #highostomyoutput
