Ok. It's official. And I'm not saying this to insult Americans. But, at this point, we can all agree; America has the slowest and perhaps dumbest citizens in the world. Cos WTF is this? Just last year, the U.S government attacked Iran with the B2 bombers and claimed it completely obliterated Iran's nuclear capabilities. And this year, the U.S government is claiming it's attacking Iran to prevent it from getting a nuclear weapon. A few years ago, the U.S government claimed Iraq possessed a weapon of mass destruction. Went into Iraq, killed over a million people, stole gold and oil and there was no WMD. Why do Americans keep falling for this? How is it, that this exact line their government use works every time?

RoboTaxi and Optimus still have a while before any meaningful revenue will come from them. “Not sure why this is not obvious”

So the market wanted to see $TSLA invest billions of dollars in R&D and new hardware for new auto product lines (that they're already doing for cybercab) but do it again for higher cost tweener vehicles vs just leveraging the #1 and #2 selling EV's in the world which is what they did. When real budgets and P&L's are actually thought through, it's clear Tesla made the right decision with the Model Y and 3 standard as they've done in the past. It's also the right decision to channel more capex to AI / Optimus vs iterative hardware... The higher order bit is transitioning the cost structure of transport from large up front down payment/purchases to per mi per km... That's the direction they're focused on. Not sure why this is not obvious...

@SawyerMerritt I would have preferred it to be a GPU.. But, likely it would have been another in a series on non start products. Cybertruck (in any iteration), “standard” models of 3 and Y, and let’s not forget Dojo..

Tesla told me they noticed that Cybertruck owners really liked the closed wheel covers, so they did something similar with the new 18" wheels on the Model 3 and Model Y Standard. Both wheel covers look great in person.

@wholemars No.. We wanted them to make a car version of the RoboTaxi. It would have been priced right and sold like crazy.

These new base models are a brilliant strategic move by Tesla. I love it. It’s funny that people wanted them to invest billions in a whole new vehicle line. That was clearly not needed based on what we are seeing with the Standard models and FSD 14.

@farzyness Boo. This will do nothing for sales. If they would’ve made Robo taxi into a car as well they would’ve hit it out of the ballpark.

Elon’s 70 posts a day are they reason Tesla and Spacex are failing in their stated objectives. Starship can’t fly in weather that Falcon flys in all the time and tesla can’t sell anything but two cars that are annually selling less car because Elon has pissed off 1/2 of the world..
