This week in #EDLT561 I am reflecting on my original goals for this course. I am leaving this course with the confidence that I can navigate and seamlessly incorporate social media into my classroom and support my colleagues in using social media in their classes. @desertjul
My AHA moment this week in #edlt561 was that I have a bit of a fear of utilizing new technologies in my programs. However, I know the fear is more in my unfamiliarity not in its unusefulness. I am ready to take it on!
@desertjul
I learned how valuable of a teaching tool social media can be if used in a way that promotes good digital citizenship and cultural sustainability! #EDLT561@desertjul
This week in #edlt561 I've learned so much about how Twitch and Discord are being purposefully integrated to support education at all levels. Thanks @MsCoughlinRM@PlayerJanessa@mickeylover74 for providing some great resources and thoughtful reflections. @desertjul
This week in #EDLT561 we got to learn about Twitch and Discord, which opens up so much more opportunities and platforms of connectivity and learning! I am grateful to have insight to the capabilities of both! @desertjul
I learned how powerful Discord and Twitch can be when utilized in the classroom. I think the future of education is moving towards platforms like these. The possibilities are endless! #EDLT561@desertjul
Thanks to Kerilyn, Janessa, and Roberta, I learned that your PLN doesn't have to be specifically for a professional viewpoint. It can be with whatever networking tool you prefer (not social media) and it can be with whomever you come in contact with @desertjul#EDLT561
The one thing I learned this week from my classmates (Megan, Erin, and Jessica) was that digital citizenship requires awareness and understanding that your actions online affect your life outside the digital world #EDLT561
TPACK supports teachers to engage in innovative teaching and learning practices while Digital Citizenship supports learners to (responsibly) engage in their innovative, 21st century spaces. Information is power! It’s a great week in #EDLT561@desertjul
I loved creating my infographic on digital citizenship. I think digital citizenship should be taught in every school because the digital world is becoming more applicable for young people than ever before. It is up to teachers to show digital responsibility. @desertjul#EDLT561
We chose @GoogleForEdu because Google is at the forefront of elearning. This page is the hub for all things education and what Google is bringing to the table. @desertjul#EDLT561
We chose "A Defense for Academic Twitter" because it highlights the push for the use of Twitter in academic research and its increasing value in the academic world. @desertjul#EDLT561
@ErinGro27782114@desertjul I think real-world applications are the best learning tools out there! It helps students to realize the value of what they are learning.
Starting my first week in #EDLT561. I am excited to learn how to incorporate social media positively in my Algebra 1 class this fall. This could be a great way to connect students to real-world applications! @desertjul
The first week in #EDLT561 has been fast-paced but engaging! I'm looking forward to learning more about utilizing social media professionally and leveraging it in the classroom to best meet the needs of my learners! @desertjul
It is great to see familiar faces! I loved researching social media tools like Twitter this week. It blew me away how valuable Twitter data has become over the last decade! @desertjul#EDLT561
