VENEZUELA >>>Delcy Rodriguez Treason Did you know that, according to Miami Herald, back in October 2025, senior Venezuelan officials—led by Vice President Delcy Rodríguez and her brother Jorge Rodríguez—quietly offered the U.S. a back-channel deal for a “Madurismo without Maduro” transition? They proposed replacing Nicolás Maduro with a setup that would keep much of the ruling chavista apparatus intact, positioning themselves as a more “palatable” alternative. The proposals went through Qatari intermediaries, with ideas like Delcy Rodríguez stepping into a leadership role, guarantees for Maduro (safety or exile), and economic openings for U.S. companies in oil and mining. This Miami Herald exclusive detailed how the offers framed a managed “peaceful transition” that preserved stability and the regime’s core structures—sometimes internally dubbed “Cartel Lite” by skeptics in Washington. The Trump administration ultimately rejected it, favoring harder-line regime change approaches. This article has since been deleted from the Miami Herald’s site, but it was preserved via archive at the time of reporting. Later developments in 2026 (Maduro’s fall, Delcy Rodríguez becoming interim president, U.S. sanctions relief on her circle, etc.) make this early reporting a fascinating window into the behind-the-scenes maneuvering.

Albert Einstein and Hannah Arendt's 1948 letter to the New York Times: They saw the creation of a Jewish ethnostate in Palestine at the expense of its indigenous Muslim and Christian population as a profound injustice and moral catastrophe. Einstein and the other signatories explicitly compared Begin’s Herut (Freedom Party), born from the Irgun, to Nazis and Fascists, warning that their ideology of racial superiority and violent ethnic nationalism posed a grave danger to the moral and political future of the new state. - - - Full text of Einstein and Hannah Arendt's letter to the New York Times: TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW YORK TIMES December 2, 1948 Among the most disturbing political phenomena of our time is the emergence in the newly created State of Israel of the “Freedom Party” (Tnuat Haherut), a political party closely akin in its organization, methods, political philosophy, and social appeal to the Nazi and Fascist parties. It was formed out of the membership and following of the former Irgun Zvai Leumi, a terrorist, right-wing, chauvinist organization in Palestine. The current visit of Menachem Begin, leader of this party, to the United States is obviously calculated to give the impression of American support for his party in the coming Israeli elections and to cement political ties with Zionist elements in the United States. Several Americans of national repute have lent their names to welcome his visit. It is inconceivable that those who oppose fascism throughout the world could condone, even by silence, the appearance of such a party in Israel. Within the Jewish community they have preached an admixture of ultra-nationalism, religious mysticism, and racial superiority. Like other fascist parties, they have been used to break strikes, and they have encouraged demoralization among labor. In their actions they have been marked by cruelty and contempt for human life. During the recent past, they have systematically terrorized the Arab population, attacked Jewish settlements, and sabotaged the rescue of displaced Jews from Europe. A shocking example was their behavior in the Arab village of Deir Yassin. This village, off the main roads and surrounded by Jewish lands, had taken no part in the war and had even fought off Arab bands that wanted to use it as their base. On April 9 (1948), terrorist bands attacked this peaceful village, which was not a military objective in the fighting, killed most of its inhabitants — 240 men, women, and children — and kept a few of them alive to parade through the streets of Jerusalem. Most of the Jewish community was horrified at the deed, and the Jewish Agency sent an apology to King Abdullah of Transjordan. But the terrorists, far from being ashamed of their act, were proud of it, widely publicized it, and invited foreign correspondents to view the corpses and the ravaged village. The Deir Yassin incident exemplifies the character and actions of the Freedom Party. Within the Jewish community they have attempted to institute a reign of terror, have beaten up Jews who opposed them, and have, by gangster methods, terrorized the population. It is inconceivable that those who oppose fascism throughout the world could condone, even by silence, the appearance of such a party in Israel. The undersigned therefore take this means of publicly presenting a warning to the American people concerning a danger to be found in the Freedom Party in Israel, a danger to which the leadership of Menachem Begin gives the greatest emphasis. (Signed): Albert Einstein, Hannah Arendt, Sidney Hook, Rabbi Jessurun Cardozo, Irma Lindheim, and 22 other Jewish scholars, writers, and public figures. (Published December 4, 1948, in The New York Times.)

Pettis is wrong about China but not everything. Like John, I was part of the MMT community ten years ago - did a UK mini-tour with Bill Mitchell in 2016. I've read most of the literature and fully understand it. I have a background in economic history, social science and social psychology. I tried to point out a few communicative problems - for instance, why people like to think their taxes pay for public spending - and suggested better ways of persuading people. I felt myself being ostracised straight away. The senior economists and activists just won't listen. To be honest, some of the psychology was over their heads. It has become cult-like in the sense that it refuses to correct what are in most cases minor errors and inconsistencies. It has its wagons in a circle. It needs to open up and start being reflexive and dialectical.

The rich are villains. Vanilla US political science shows that the rich dominate politics. The rich keep doing it. They spend their money to corrupt the system so it serves them, not the majority. This despite the fact that the rich are obviously doing fabulously well.
Jenni@hashjenni

Jeff Bezos thinks people are ‘vilifying the rich.’ Bro, you’re one of the richest people on earth and 1/3 of your warehouse workers rely on government assistance for basic needs like food and rent. You ARE the villain.

@tonyannett These narcissistic trading hucksters are unbearable. Their understanding of economics is like a motorcycle stunt rider's understanding of advanced mechanical engineering. Their intellectual limitations are sprayed all over their timeliness - Dunning-Kruger in Brioni suits.

@LexiAIexander Reagan's last act was to recognize the PLO to set the stage for a Palestinian state. Bush 41 sent his SecState to AIPAC to say it was time to give up on "Greater Israel." This is why HW Bush lost in 1992. The Clean Break neocon strategy is a disaster even from an imperialist POV.

High-level Iranian source tells me “the deal between Iran and the US on ending the war is completely considered finalized on behalf of Iran.” “If the US does not have ambitious goals again under the pressure and influence of Zionist lobbies, the agreement to end the war is completely finalized in our opinion, and we can officially announce it right now.”

The US agreed to transfer $12 billion of Iranian money frozen in Qatar as a gesture of goodwill. Netanyahu said no; Trump pulled back. How can Iran ever trust any deal with a president that changes his mind by the hour?

It's funny that this Zionist Congresswoman from FL is supposed to be providing oversight in the public interest, but she actually serves as an intel-community minder during the spooky guy's testimony.

The NED is a US intel cutout that now admits it smuggled Starlink communications equipment into Iran to fuel deadly unrest this January The NED leader also took credit for exaggerated death tolls But it looks like he wasn't supposed to let that Starlink info slip

@Tyler_A_Harper It is a liberal political monoculture. A Left would be radical...fixated on the oligarchic imperial capitalist apex of power, not running interference for it with radlib (an oxymoron) idpol obscurantism.

This conversation is extremely annoying because I am not remotely invested in denying that academia is a left political monoculture and that this has caused problems, but words mean things and there just are not a bunch of Marxists or economic radicals running around the faculty.

On the academia is full of Marxists debate: it’s illustrative to look at Mellon, the largest source of academic humanities funding by orders of magnitude. Projects tagged w/ Marxism in their grant database? 0 Gender studies? 46 Black studies? 25 Social Justice? 42 Latinx? 451

The Iranians and anyone with a shred of decency should be working to end Israel’s nukes, the Sword of Damocles threatening humanity. US gov won’t even acknowledge them, watch:
Benjamin Netanyahu - בנימין נתניהו@netanyahu

I spoke last night with President @realDonaldTrump about the memorandum of understanding to reopen the Straits of Hormuz and the upcoming negotiations toward a final agreement on Iran’s nuclear program. I expressed my deep appreciation to President Trump for his unwavering commitment to Israel’s security, including during Operation Roaring Lion and Epic Fury, when American and Israeli forces fought shoulder to shoulder against the Iranian threat. President Trump and I agreed that any final agreement with Iran must eliminate the nuclear danger. That means dismantling Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites and removing its enriched nuclear material from its territory. President Trump also reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself against threats on every front, including Lebanon. The partnership between us and our two countries has been proven on the battlefield and has never been stronger.  My policy, like President Trump’s, remains unchanged: Iran will not have nuclear weapons.
