I seek to dismantle the illusion of reality we’ve constructed in our own minds—search for truth is the only rational form of absolutism. Fiercely Agnostic

Twitter has an exceptional propensity for discouraging impartiality in both religion and reason. Do not be afraid to admit uncertainty where uncertainty is reason. There is strength in embracing humility in place of accepting answers for comfort or tribal partisanship.

@dalepartridge For the edification of the masses, these are the Christian Nationalists who presume that they are going to Heaven by the way. They honestly believe these things and we must stop giving them the attention they seek.

I take it you missed the psychology between 5 seasons of characters telling him “He is nothing without his powers”? He didn’t fear death necessarily, he feared the reality of his own mortality and powerlessness. He spent his entire life as the most powerful entity on earth and in a flash it was all gone. That’s what broke him in those moments. Not death.

Allow me to educate you. Social consequences affect how other people and society respond to you or to an event. This includes becoming physically violent that stems from a verbal altercation. So in affect, you did in fact say something about the social consequences of free speech. The government “taking away a man’s rights” as you put it, are the legal consequences of his actions, which in fact have nothing to do with free speech and everything to do with his shooting of another man. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk

Let me clarify so you understand my position intimately. A world where people defend their honor being accosted by random strangers on the street makes a hell of a whole lot more sense to me than a world where people go around Willy nilly insulting people and expecting zero social consequence under the guise of free speech. A civilized society requires restraint in both violence and speech. One side of that equation cannot demand responsibility while rejecting it themselves.

@Ijusthatealiens @TateTheTalisman I’m going to ask you a very simple question: If this entire situation about Chud, which has been the catalyst for such bifurcated and polarizing discussion, was only ever about free speech, why has he singled out only one race of people and one word?

@Aautomatus @TateTheTalisman Chud only asked if he could say the word nigger, when someone would lose their shit, then he would call them nigger. Your framing is disingenuous but then again I expect nothing less from a society that let's their girls get groomed by pakis and arabs.

You realize that what you’re describing is a civilized society right? Degrading and demeaning someone without consequence is a fairly modern concept. There was a time where if you insulted a man’s honor you’d have to held accountable. “Now, you say, well this isn’t the wild Wild West or medieval times anymore. We’re a civilized society. We don’t punch people for mean words.” Okay, that’s fair, well why is only one side of that equation persecuted? If we’re in a civilized society, you probably shouldn’t have the right to provoke people unwarranted, yes?

Well, now you’re presenting the possibility of a conspiracy, the witnesses apparently have to have told a different story. The video of the bond hearing shows the judge explicitly stating that he was making the bond that high due to the sheer number of witnesses. There must be some reason Fox was not arrested or charged with anything, yet you’re insinuating that he initiated the confrontation, initiated the fight, and repeatedly beat on child for practically no reason, yet he wasn’t arrested? Brother, I’ll riot with you if that’s true. You’re also insinuating that police, civilian witnesses, and the judge are in a grand conspiracy to go after “ChudtheBuilder”.

It’s quite literally “subjective based on the impulsive emotions of each individual” Which is why you you’re upset. You’re upset that not every single human being will respond in accordance with your perceived notion of acceptable sociable behavior. Hence once again, entitled Americans.

You say, “He says a word” as though he’s saying pig, or dog,” You do realize that you’re defending the desire to go up to a person of a very specific race and call them the most degrading word you could possibly call them. Let’s start here, this is the hill you’re going to die on. Because if so, this conversation should probably start with the concept of morality.

Son, what you’re doing is called cognitive reductionism in order to make your argument seemingly more valid. “Making someone mad,” does not equate to harassment, antagonistic behavior or provocative actions. He doesn’t simply say a word and walk away, he continues to yell slurs, threaten, and demean long after the other person is “mad”.
