A pick from our nonfiction rec list: @AcademicWannabe's 'The Nature of the Beast'! A great run down of how depictions and ideas of werewolves have changed over the last 5 decades. 🐺🌜

One of the heartiest, most beautiful soups you can make is caldo verde, a Portuguese soup made with potatoes, onions, garlic, chorizo and greens. It’s also very simple to make! In this thread I‘ll show you how to make it.

@NocturneMag Usually the short story as it allows my imagination to go in overdrive and freak me out. Movie scares often don’t live up to the premise. Excepting the Pale Man from Pan’s Labyrinth - that scene was the most frightened I’ve ever been in the cinema.

Ok deep breath, here goes! After a lot of thinking, I’ve decided to bring a new mag into the literary world, with two 🔥🔥writers and dear friends--@lakshgiri and @lumchanmfa. Dedicated to my sister, Suma, who loved nature, art, and mindfulness, we present @lit_namjooning!

BOOK REC REQUEST: I am looking for good, old (up to Anne Rice) Gothic novels and short stories that I might have missed. Among the many I have already read are Carmilla, Rebecca, Rappaccini’s Daughter, The Castle of Otranto, Dracula, Edgar Allan Poe’s stories. Any suggestions?

@AcademicWannabe @girlsontopstees I just read it now and savored every word. I've never watched Waitress, but now I feel more compelled than ever to see it--just on your writing alone.
