@dr_musgrave @TheBMA @kimleadbeater @wesstreeting @RachelReevesMP @lisanandy I’d expect lots of organisations representing drs would input; I simply pointed out that the BMA has asked members their views on a massive scale. I don’t think anyone would expect the BMA to have the “final say” 🤷🏼‍♀️

To say they should strikes me as outlandishly presumptuous/ arrogant of the organisation. Kim Leadbeater shouldn’t for example pick up the phone just to the BMA. That’s my point.

@dr_musgrave @TheBMA @kimleadbeater @wesstreeting @RachelReevesMP @lisanandy It’s bizarre to suggest that @TheBMA which did the biggest survey of the profession in the UK on exactly this issue isn’t representing the views of the profession, when the policy is based on the survey. It’s actually a really good example of evidence based policy making.

Take the Cass saga as a recent example. Politicised organisation which doesn't always represent grassroots opinion. Ofc much can also change in 3 years with changed leadership.
