CME Exchange Outage — Futures & Indices Frozen The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) is currently experiencing a major technical outage affecting its Globex and EBS trading systems. This is a direct exchange-level disruption, not related to any broker, prop firm, or platform. What’s Affected - All CME-listed futures (e.g., S&P 500, Nasdaq, Dow Jones, commodities, rates, FX futures) Trading halted / no price updates - Index CFDs that derive pricing from CME benchmark: Prices may appear frozen, delayed, or highly unstable. Some CFD products on commodities and indices: May be temporarily unavailable - FX & non-CME products: Still tradable. Why It Matters This is an exchange outage, meaning: - No liquidity provider can stream normal CME-based pricing. - Prop firms cannot force price updates until CME systems resume. - The halt impacts all trading platforms globally, regardless of firm or infrastructure. Impact on Traders - Order interruptions: Opening or closing positions on CME-linked products is not possible during the halt. - Frozen charts: Prices on major indices may show no movement. Industry Status - CME has acknowledged the issue and is working to restore full functionality. - Pricing is expected to resume automatically once CME reactivates its Globex infrastructure. PFM Recommendation - Treat any CME-derived pricing with extra caution until normal updates resume. - Avoid making short-term trading decisions based on frozen or partial data. - Monitor official CME alerts for confirmed recovery: cmegroup.com/tools-informat… PFM will continue tracking the situation and release an update once trading returns to normal.
