@illi44426690 @VintageHiFiGeek @Defeatdictators @brianschatz You make cuts to Medicaid and at best it’ll save less than $715B over the next 10 years. While hurting people, by literally taking away healthcare. And destroying middle class jobs. Takes services and money out of the system. For barely a dent in the current deficit.

This is the biggest wealth transfer in American history from poor to rich, it kicks 14 million off of healthcare, takes nutritional assistance away from families, and blows up the deficit. You don’t convene a hearing at 1 in the morning if you think your bill is popular.

Imagine you want a toy, but it comes with yucky food you don't like. You'd say no to the whole deal, right? That's why Democrats voted against the bill. They liked the part about no taxes on overtime pay for workers like firefighters, but the bill also cut healthcare and food help for poor people. They thought those cuts were bad, so they said no to everything, even the good part. It's like choosing not to take the toy because the yucky food isn't worth it. grok.com

Hey @grok, will Donald Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill” benefit the rich or the poor? Short answer.

@illi44426690 @VintageHiFiGeek @Defeatdictators @brianschatz Good. Immigrants stimulate an economy. They create demand. A huge part of basic economics. Supply&Demand. A hospital needs more doctors, nurses, janitors, cafeteria workers, etc. since there are more patients. Helps the middle class. Tax cuts help multi-millionaires. They good.

@VintageHiFiGeek @Defeatdictators @brianschatz Who’s wrong? They said tax cuts would inflate the deficit. Trump cut taxes in 2017 or 2018. The deficit has skyrocketed. The debt will be higher than $36T in 2028. Bookmark this. Maybe then you’ll stop believing the horseshit. It’s bad for you. Bad for all of us

@VintageHiFiGeek @Defeatdictators @brianschatz You’re right, the debt is a big problem. So you shouldn’t be cutting taxes if your intention is to be paying off debt. “I want to pay off my credit card, so I’m going to stop buying food, and also quit my job, so there’s no more income.” Please listen to economists.

@AciernoRobert @Defeatdictators @brianschatz Bullshit. The United States is $36T in debt. If we don't get the grifters and fraudsters off these social programs, we'll go bankrupt and no longer be able to fund anything in about 10 years. Anyone who disagrees doesn't understand how close to the razor's edge we already are.

@VintageHiFiGeek @Defeatdictators @brianschatz They tricked you to fight over pennies while theyre taking the dollars. Even if social programs were for scammers like you think, which 95% of the time, they aren’t…those people spend that money. Stimulate the economy. Rich people buy more stock. Does nothing for middle class.

@krassenstein Once again, the boomers mortgaging the future on their children and grandchildren. They somehow don’t have a big enough piece of this pie. Taking all future gains of every single asset class off the table. This level of financial irresponsibility will be catastrophic.

BREAKING: The GOP-led House just passed the Big Beautiful Bill in a 215-214 vote. It will defund Medicaid and Medicair while decreasing taxes mainly for the uber wealthy and corporations. It will also expand our deficit and increase our national debt by trillions of dollars. So much for DOGE. Two Republicans vote no: Massie and Davidson.

@LonghornRaiders @jimcramer @epictrades1 Need more jobs, more taxpayers. Immigrants create more demand and more taxpayers. Invest in growing higher paying jobs. Why don’t we propose cuts to defense? Rest of nato countries are spending more of their fair share now, we can pull back.

Net interest on our debt is likely to exceed $1 trillion this year. We are talking about a big tax bill that net after growth adds about $3 trillion over 10 years In 2015 the net interest on our debt was around $230 Billion. Boy do we need to grow this economy more than ever to keep our debt to GDP from exploding further. When are we gonna deal with the truth? Adding up Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Interest and Defense we get to about $5.2 trillion which is equal to our revenues collected. The Discretionary spending is just deficit add on. Not sustainable of course. Will the bond market force the issue? Social security cuts and means testing coming along with Medicare. The truth no one wants to discuss yet

Bonds will overshoot and then settle. They will get to a level that brings in actual buyers and then we will have a turbocharged economy from that budget agreement. We just can't believe any of that right now. But it is possible.

The stock market is in a lot of trouble when investors finally figure out that regardless of what the Fed does with short-term interest rates, long-term interest rates are headed much higher. What's coming is not your father's stagflation, it's something much worse. Got gold?

@FROGfish0 @AtheistPhoenix Ok, the only thing I can think of is we have different definitions for morality. Cause every story, fiction or non-fiction, book, movie, tv show, etc. etc…has moral elements, moral quandaries. If you don’t think right and wrong behavior isn’t an element in storytelling…

Hot take: Personal finance education is overrated. You can teach someone about compound interest, budgeting, and investing, but it won't make much of a difference if they're only making $35,000 a year. Their problem isn't their knowledge. It's their income.

@FROGfish0 @AtheistPhoenix And comic books can explain morality, purpose, etc. too. Do we take those for real? We should all be grateful to Batman for keeping Gotham safe.
