In these hostels, they even attend their sick friends like a family. They taste their freedom with that first cigarette or a beer. They learn to complete assignments on last moment and hold their nerves even when they are not ready for exams. They prepare themselves for jobs & pull out their families from low income traps. Some embark on journeys to study abroad & see the world. These kids in engineering, medical, business etc colleges are the only chance for India to grow big & bring prosperity to most of its populace. The investment made here is not just on education. This is nation-building even when you cannot see it directly. The noise & burden of your birth identity vanishes here and then you hear your inner voice, the voice then grows into a call.
