Not only did we say better than LeBron but PFT said if he doesn’t win a minimum of 7 titles he’s a failure. Sorry we have expectations for greatness.

If you listened to @PardonMyTake this morning you’d of thought the Spurs played 1v5 the other night the way this pod is glazing Wemby. @BarstoolBigCat already crowning him better than LeBron. Guys are becoming the mainstream they used to clown on a daily basis

@PsoccerCOM Solid but missed the opportunity to include a few kids who could be game breakers Why Semedo and Guedes?

@selecaoportugal @FIFAWorldCup Not sure how Guedes or Semedo made the squad. Semedo way past his prime & much better options at forward. You have to bring one potential game breaker like Quenda

@psnlsoccer Hard disagree on the RB rankings. M Nunes is the #1 option & it’s not close, he’s best defender of the 5 & been good at creating chances for city. Bigger stronger faster than Cancelo or Semedo Proven himself at 1 of the best teams in world in most difficult physical league.

@nathanmotz @captainstaino Fully agree. With Pepe gone we don’t have anyone who can bring that edge when needed. Plus, he’s proven he can close out a game when we’re pinned back in our defensive 3rd. Most tackles in the physical EPL is no small feat & he rarely gets carded because his timing is great

@captainstaino That’s fair, but he adds something most other Portugal players don’t…. raw aggression. I think this team would benefit from his rugged approach.

Guys, I’m an idiot. All this time I’ve spent trying not to die, I had toxic turf in my backyard. Artificial turf contains crumb rubber infill made from recycled tires, which leaches chemicals including PFAS, heavy metals, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. These compounds are linked to hormone disruption, carcinogenicity, and systemic inflammation. I don’t know how I missed it. It makes me question my basic competence in life. What gets me is that I try so hard to survey the world of potential idiocy. Then I find out there’s a monument to idiocy sitting right in front of my face that I was blind to. I’m removing the turf, yet I’m still stuck with this seemingly unsolvable problem of how to not be an idiot.

@PortugalTalks Viega better defender and more proven than Araujo. He was good in the friendlies but not great plus has no experience next to Dias. Viega does. Can’t take that risk.

@nathanmotz Ignacio & A Silva probably played themselves out of consideration for starting CB. Araujo not bad, but Viega better defender. Nunes feels like he secured RB. Problem will be our back 4 have never played altogether. Need that lineup for Chile: Nuno, Viega, Dias, Nunes

Far better from 🇵🇹 tonight. Bruno class, also Vitinha, and in the 2nd half I liked Félix. Nuno Mendes just a terror even when clearly playing about 75%. Chico should have scored at the end. And how about Matheus Nunes? Excellent cameo at RB. One more friendly, then the Big Show!

@SelecaoPod One clear Bright spot and question answered has been M Nunes at Right Back. In both games feel like he stood out and clear ahead of Dalot/ Cancelo Defending, ball control, press resistance and passing all superior to them. Don’t think he put a wrong foot forward.

@EricKrakauer Our back 4 were unable to break the press and everyone, but Dalot with careless turnovers. That forced Vitinha to come so deep to pick up the ball. Should be different with Ruben, Dias, Nuno and M Nunes starting all press resistant and are better passes

Effective 424/442 press from #USMNT. Have clogged up passing lanes, forcing Portugal into mistakes, which have led to a number of dangerous US attacks in transition. Pulisic mobility up top, a plus. Promising start, like against Belgium. Cooling break might kill momentum.

@SelecaoPod He has absolutely nothing to prove And nobody next to him on back line will start in the World Cup so there’s no continuity gain

Credit to US, but #Portugal continues to struggle in attacking third. Few vertical runs. Few overloads. When those occurred, they created difficulties. This system asks a lot from Vitinha. If Bruno doesn’t create, no one does. Gonçalo Inácio couldn’t cope with Pulisic.

Mexico have kept 10 clean sheets in 15 games after 0-0 v Portugal. That is the kind of grit USA need when they play the same opposition this week.

@PsoccerCOM Whole team looks sluggish But to be fair it was 2 AM back home at kick off Still 2nd half completely dominated in thier stadium had a bunch of chances. Still need to figure out the RW & other CB Guedes was invisible, R Neves not effective, Cancelo nearly gave up 2 goals

What to say about that half? #Portugal never got out of 3rd gear. Chico and Samu the only players who look like they’re interested in playing. Gonçalo Ramos must have indigestion. The good news is that Mexico are playing well and haven’t managed to pose too much of a threat.

The only starting position that should be up for debate as of right now is who will be Ruben Dias' CB partner and who will be RB. Just from this game I can put up the best starting lineup.
