@SatsRunner Yes, BTC yield from STX that is stacked to make sBTC holders solvent over time if the system were to fail. The exact details are still being implemented, but that is still the plan as far as I'm aware. (I've been less online the last couple months so could be dated as well)

@AcrossFireX Things may have changed since I last looked. But for a while if sBTC should ever be lost/stolen, the original idea was to use STX to partially reimburse sBTC holders.

Yield is addicting. Mr Smack loves yield! Especially when it's a 9.29% APY on Stacks.

@SatsRunner @StackingDao Also worth noting stackers are never slashed. Yield can be withheld and withdrawals paused for bad actions, but funds are not slashed.

@SatsRunner @StackingDao If people began to unstack that would reduce security just like miners going offline. Less people doing the work and less economic capital ensuring security of the system. This is true. This is balanced by known signers who do stake their reputation in public. It is a tradeoff

@SatsRunner @StackingDao Yes that requirement was removed and there is no longer an sBTC supply cap as a result. Essentially ensuring a secure set of signers is the most important thing for sBTC going forward. There are certainly trust assumptions and tradeoffs that come with this.
