The Case for @Stacks series: My thoughts and opinions👀👀. Part 1: x.com/cryptofronts/s… #Bitcoin #Stacks #BitcoinDeFi #DeFi
Highroller.btc (Cryptofronts) 🧙🏽‍♂️@cryptofronts

The Case for @Stacks: Yield and Income Why you should own some 👀 $STX now. If you know what's coming. By now you should understand the base value, and long term price action, of #Bitcoin and #Stacks. Between ~$200 and $450 $STX this cycle, is my expectation right now. If you have $STX tokens either on @StackingDao or #Stacking to earn #Bitcoin, then you'll be earning in FIAT safe, debasement safe, assets (#Stacks or #Bitcoin). Let's take your 42k $STX tokens example with @StackingDao. Courtesy of @RDRCspaces. At a conservative 4% (@StackingDao is ~6.35%) yield, that's 1,680 $STX a year. (well above the 1,500 mark). At $200 per $STX, your ~4% yield is earning you $336,000 stacking compounded into $stSTX. That's just the beginning. #ETH, #SOL and other chains bridged and #Nakamoto + $sBTC incoming to #Stacks. @ALEXLabBTC 👀👀 Very soon we'll see the early investor stage rip, bringing institutional money to #BitcoinDeFi after #Nakamojo upgrade, and the #sBTC upgrade. That's this cycle. Initiate first face melting rally. You'll wish you didn't miss this. You'll think you missed it like #Ethereum at $200 or $SOL at $12. Then before you know it, alongside #Bitcoin, it's another face melting move with new businesses being built to cater to all users and generate real value with and on sound money. This comes when #Bitcoin flows to #BitcoinDeFi. That can also happen this cycle (4 year, not just the bull cycle). #Bitcoin either continues in cycles (above valid) or we break and just go up, in which case where do you think #Stacks will go. Not bullish enough. Don't underestimate #Bitcoin, #Stacks or $WELSH. P.S. just for reference, #Stacks $STX at #Ethereum's marketcap is ~$300 right now, and ~$400 at #ETH's all time high. P.P.S. Global #BitcoinETFs incoming unlocking more flow so more countries can hold #Bitcoin to protect themselves. P.P.P.S.: Did I mention the #Halving? No? Ok, the #Halving will be a huge driver, along with price, for buyers. Especially #ETFs 📺🧠👀. #Bitcoin #Stacks #BitcoinDeFi #BitcoinETF #BitcoinETFs #Halving #Halving2024

"Strategy is the JPMorgan of the crypto economy." I join @KellyCNBC and @TheDomino on @CNBC today to discuss $MSTR and $BTC. 00:53 - Bitcoin’s bear cycle, macro headwinds, and how Strategy is navigating volatility through active capital management 02:05 - Legislative clarity as the catalyst for tokenization, stablecoins, bank adoption, and Bitcoin’s role as an inflation hedge 02:45 - Why Strategy is not a forced seller of $BTC, and why Bitcoin Per Share matters more than average cost 03:43 - Net Bitcoin accumulation: ~170,000 BTC added this year and 35x more bitcoin bought than sold 04:02 - Why Strategy sells bitcoin: funding dividends, buying back $STRC below par, and increasing Bitcoin Per Share 05:01 - Strategy’s Bitcoin scale: 842,138 BTC, over 4% of total supply, and the largest institutional Bitcoin position 05:36 - Balance sheet flexibility: $4B of USD reserves and multiple ways to fund dividend obligations 06:00 - The Clarity Act, executive rulemaking, and why regulatory decisions matter for the broader digital asset industry

@yasu0x1 You hire them and agree on scope of work. We’ve done several audits for @LeatherBTC for example and even for Stacks app on the Ledger. Fairly standard processes. In fact, Stacks core software would be the most heavily audited one. Every hardfork or major release gets audited.

3 lessons from the Coldcard incident. First is about strategy for storing your Bitcoin. Second, about the upcoming quantum computing threat. Third, about enhancing BTC ecosystem for the future. Let’s dive into each. (1) How to store Bitcoin: The Coldcard incident is particularly unfortunate because it hit the life savings of risk-averse people who did everything right. They stayed away from riskier investments, learned about self-custody, and truly believed in Bitcoin as the best store of value. I won’t repeat details about the hack (other people have covered this). Moving forward, diversification is the best strategy. Maybe 20-30% in an ETF (like IBIT). I prefer an ETF over direct exchange because you get the benefits of (a) underlying custodian diversification, and (b) extra legal protections given regulated ETF. 40-50% on a setup like @CasaHODL 3-key plan: it has one key with a security company, one key on a mobile device, and one hardware wallet (like a Trezor). 20-30% on a self-sovereign setup with different hardware wallets and different sources of entropy (for advanced users). Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. (2) On quantum computing threat: A quantum computer breaking encryption will unfortunately look similar to BTC suddenly moving out of your cold storage. The community has a painful memory of how terrible that feels now. The quantum threat is real, and we have a handful of years to act. Better to be safe than downplay quantum advancements, especially with the rise of LLM-assisted acceleration of scientific breakthroughs. (3) Improving Bitcoin ecosystem health: Certain parts of the Bitcoin community became very insular over the last several years. The bulk of the talented security researchers and firms are outside of the “Bitcoin-only” community. Most people in the industry have never heard of Coldcard, and my guess is the top security research firms didn’t audit their code. Several of the best security minds would simply stay away from the drama associated with giving feedback or input to certain “Bitcoin-only” developers. It’s time to move past these artificial limitations and in-fighting. Bitcoin community should be more inclusive and welcoming to engineers working outside of Bitcoin. (I’m sure I’ll get yelled at for suggesting this, but I’m used to it now). There is nothing inherently “evil” about engineers working on other crypto protocols. In fact, some of the best engineering minds, especially in security, are outside of Bitcoin (e.g., Trail of Bits, Asymmetric Research, etc). Bitcoin-focused businesses should engage more with these security firms and researchers and establish friendly relationships and audit processes. When Bitcoin gets hurt, everyone in our industry gets hurt. Let’s not limit ourselves for ideological reasons and work together toward a secure future.

Yes, yes, yes! BRAVO @Stacks Community! An awesome turnout! Most chains are withering but the energy and thirst to build here is surging! Big thank you to @zeroauthdao team! It's only a matter of time and their platform will be booming with even more activity! It makes too much business sense in this new emerging blockchain world. We are spoiled with this gem in our corner of the internet. Big thank you to @StacksEndowment for paving the paths and setting the stage for our up and coming next-gen builders!

200+ applications. A record for DeGrants. 🚀 Not every submission will meet the funding bar—and that's okay. The signal is clear: builders want to build on Bitcoin. Stacks continues to be one of the strongest places to make that happen. Excited to see what emerges. 🟧🟠

The public evidence of BIP-110 adoption is concentrated among Knots users and OCEAN/DATUM miners. There is no identified major exchange, custodian, ETF platform, wallet, or payment network enforcing it. More than 99% of Bitcoin’s economic weight has not adopted it.

The DEX is still running, which is a win in itself - so a comeback is possible. But with the thesis + timeline shifting, it’s time to rotate most of my $VELAR into other plays. Keeping a 100k moonbag just in case! 🎒 Where’s the liquidity moving? More $stSTX? $stSTXbtc? $ZEST?
Rainfire.btc@RainFire09

Update for @VelarBTC-the dex is active and running. There are no users or LPs in Bitcoin defi to run it profitably but we ll keep running it. Hopefully we see a revival of Bitcoin DeFi narrative soon. Till then, I will be focusing on solving another global problem using crypto.

Update on the Stacks hardfork: (1) 100% of the miners upgraded. 98.44% of the signers upgraded. The network is operating smoothly. (2) All major exchanges (Binance, Upbit, etc) and major partners have upgraded. (3) Binance asked for additional information, which we’ve provided. There seem to be no additional questions from Binance. Their “risk tag” will get reviewed in the upcoming committee meeting in a few weeks. (4) The Stacks Endowment is working on new initiatives for improving liquidity and health of trading markets. Update soon. The Satoshi Upgrades 1 fork is the best engineering execution we’ve seen so far. I’m excited about the upcoming initiatives in August to improve liquidity and markets!

Binance tightened STX risk controls on Jul 31: collateral ratio 30%→10%, 5x STXUSDT cap $750K→$250K, and 4x cap $1.5M→$500K. First-order impact is bearish: deleveraging. But not one-way—limits hit longs and shorts, potentially raising upside squeeze risk. Not a delisting notice.@binance
