I'm happy you had a good laugh there! You're correct about Saudi Arabia, not being secular, but my point of the post was when Sharia Law became entrenched. Before unification, the Arabian Peninsula had mixed tribal/customary systems and some Ottoman influence. When the modern Saudi state was established (1932), rulers formalized a system based heavily on Islamic law.(According to Chat). The point remains, with the examples of several places that have had previous laws change to Sharia Law.
