Although the West Bank was not involved on Oct 7, Israel has tightened its stranglehold on the population. More soldiers, more checkpoints, more restrictions. Nobody knows what is going to happen. Nobody is telling us what are the conditions to end this nightmare. Nobody is telling us what Israel wants from us. Maybe we can meet their demands.

Multiple reports today indicate that Hamas operatives, using physical force and threats, blocked Palestinian workers and contractors, approved by the Board of Peace and Israeli authorities, from crossing the “Yellow Line” into the southern zone of the Gaza Strip, where Rafah once stood and where new temporary communities are planned. These sites are intended to move displaced Gazans out of rodent‑infested tents and into humane living conditions. The UAE has long backed this effort as an early step toward recovery, offering civilians an alternative to perpetual misery while the larger political and reconstruction questions remain unresolved. Hamas’s fascist leadership has no interest in any improvement in Gaza unless it directly empowers them, allowing them to siphon resources, rebuild capabilities, and maintain their stranglehold over two million Palestinians. This is why I have consistently argued that the only meaningful interim step is relocating civilians gradually, in phases, across the yellow line and out of Hamas’s reach. Doing so strips the terror group of its last remaining leverage: the ability to weaponize Gazans’ suffering to extract Arab, regional, and international concessions that keep it in power. Hamas can be defeated militarily, ideologically, economically, and socially, but none of that is possible while it maintains an unbroken grip over the population. It is astonishing that some in Europe and the broader international community still cling to the same development models that entrenched Hamas’s rule in the first place; promoting projects that ignore Hamas’s absolute control over the red zone west of the “Yellow Line” and indulging the very Band-Aid approaches the group relies on to create a normalcy bias that treats its perpetual rule as inevitable. There’s an alternate strategy: the international coalition’s approach in Mosul and Raqqa to defeat ISIS almost a decade ago. This entailed removing civilians from the terror group’s grip and areas of control first, confronting the militants, then beginning the long, difficult work of stabilization and recovery.

Every victim of sexual violence must be believed and protected — regardless of nationality, and regardless of who the perpetrator is. This principle applies equally to Palestinian and Israeli victims, whether the perpetrators are Hamas militants, Israeli settlers, or Israeli soldiers. Human rights are universal. They do not change based on politics or identity.

I was born in Gaza and spent the first 14 years of my life there. I was born into Hamas regime and lived all my life there under it. As a child you do not feel or realize a terror regime. I had an amazing childhood. I tasted everything this amazing city has to offer. After the war of 2014 my parents decided that this is not a place to raise their kids and decided to leave. Only in 2021 we managed to move to the West Bank. But Gaza remains in my heart. I miss the streets, I miss the markets, I miss the people but most of all I miss the sea. The sea was a big part of my life. I used to sit for hours, looking at the waves, weaving my dreams. I have not seen the sea in 5 years. I doubt I ever see the sea of Gaza, but next year when I go to university, perhaps I will be able to go and watch the waves once again. Perhaps. 🙏🙏🙏

Issa does not live very far from me. To be honest, not all Palestinians in Hebron suffer the way he does. On the other hand, he is well known so he can argue with the settlers and the soldiers. Most of us can not. We just hide and pray .

Yesterday was supposed to be a celebration of democracy and hope for me personally and for Palestinians as we participated in the municipal election. It turned out to be a nightmare. Countless attacks by settlers. I can not recall a day with more incidents. A day that opened with hope, hope for a change, ended in despair. 😞😞😞😞

As I told @MiddleEast_24, there's no realistic situation where the new technocratic committee can rebuild Gaza while Hamas has their guns and commits such atrocities against the residents. Let the technocratic committee enter Gaza, disarm and hold Hamas's criminals responsible.

🚨 Hamas militias continue their campaign against civilians in Gaza, kidnapping individuals and subjecting them to torture. Two days ago, Hamas militias abducted Palestinian civilian Ahmad Raihan in Gaza City. According to his family, he is being held in detention in western Gaza City and subjected to torture and mistreatment. Calls are now growing for public protests tomorrow at 11 a.m., as people demand his immediate release. Until now, there has been complete silence from media outlets and human rights organizations regarding Hamas’s abuses and crimes against civilians in Gaza.
