this is a classic ‘2 things can be true’ case
1. Sandy is using a phrase common in Aussie sport that to her and other Aussies doesn’t carry racial connotations
2. Angel doesn’t have that context, and given her lived experience it makes sense for her to interpret it negatively

even Romero was solid back then. and he showed it at that WC. their defense was so good they conceded only once in the knockouts.

@NicholasTyrone He’s incredibly good in the role created for him, with teams built around him. He doesn’t thrill like Pele, Cruyff or Socrates but it’s a vastly different game and he’s the master of it.

I have never liked Messi as a footballer. Ever. While Maradona was always playing for teams I cheered against, I had to admit he was a genius. Same with Zindane and Ronaldinho. Messi is like VAR made human as a footballer, something deeply unsatisfying.
