Steven Soderbergh reveals he pitched a James Bond project to the Broccolis *twice*, and the second was an ambitious two-fer: “I was pitching a hardcore auteur, low-budget period Bond.” theplaylist.net/steven-soderbe…

@CultureCrave @business Just stop buying anything and we’ll see what a reasonable price should be. $7 for a bag of metabolic syndrome chips is kinda high.

PepsiCo is cutting some chip prices after years of hikes pushed consumers away
• Some chips cost more than $7 per bag
• Doritos prices jumped nearly 50% since 2021
• Missed internal revenue targets by over $1B for two straight years

@pslayer2232624 @GoPro GoPro cameras are mounted to the Artemis II solar array and sending back gorgeous images of the moon and the stock is at 70 cents. I don’t get it.

@GoPro How is the GPRO stock under $1? My Gopro H3W is like a decade old and still runs.

The most historic #GoPro images ever captured.
Slide 1: The Moon, seen backlit by the Sun during a solar eclipse on April 6, 2026, is photographed by a GoPro on the Orion spacecraft’s solar array wing. Orion is visible in the foreground on the left. Earth is reflecting sunlight at the left edge of the Moon, which is slightly brighter than the rest of the disk. The bright spot visible just below the Moon’s bottom right edge is Saturn. Beyond that, the bright spot at the right edge of the image is Mars.
Slide 2: A GoPro on NASA’s Orion spacecraft captures the Moon and the Earth in one frame during the Artemis II crew’s deep space journey at 6:42 p.m. ET on the sixth day of the mission. The right side of NASA’s Orion spacecraft is seen lit up by the Sun. A waxing crescent Moon is visible behind it. And then, a crescent Earth, tiny compared to the Moon, is about to set below the Moon’s horizon on the right.
Slide 3: The Sun is rising at the left edge of the Moon, ending a nearly one-hour total solar eclipse on April 6, 2026. While the Sun hid behind the Moon, the crew aboard the Orion spacecraft, pictured in the forefront, saw a Moon shrouded in night. This offered a perfect opportunity to look for rarely seen phenomena. And the moment delivered. Calling down to Earth at 9 p.m. ET the crew reported seeing six impact flashes, which are light flashes that are created when meteoroids, traveling many thousands of miles per hour, smash into the Moon’s surface.
Slide 4: The Orion spacecraft is seen in the foreground lit up by the Sun. A first quarter Moon is visible in the background. Orientale basin, a 600-mile-wide impact crater ringed by mountains, is visible toward the bottom right of the Moon. This basin straddles the Moon’s near and far sides. To the left of Orientale, which has a patch of ancient lava in its basin, is the far side; this is the hemisphere we don’t get to see from Earth. To the right of Orientale is the near side, the hemisphere we see every day from Earth. The nearside is notable for giant, dark patches of ancient lave flows that cover its surface.

What are you going to do when AI drives your car, picks your vegetables, sews your clothes, gives medical advice, and performs surgery on you? This is a tool, just like any other. Fell free yo use it responsibly or abuse it recklessly. I’m reminded of those that scoffed at oil over whale blubber, horses over automobiles, paintings over photographs, hand made typography over computer layouts. No matter the time, not matter the advance…there is always someone there to say “no” and attempt to tell others what to do.
English

@AdamFurgang @markgadala Sorry - just an emotional reaction to the sheer volume of AI in my feed, one or two of which, yes, I have also shared , but clearly not your problem or of your making or indeed my business X

Contemporary horror films have definitely not been lacking. I’m thinking Hereditary, The Lighthouse, It Follows, and Nosferatu. With that said, Weapons had a few pretty big plot holes, dragged quite a bit, and is not rewatchable. The fact that 1000 news vehicles were not parked in that neighborhood 24/7 sort of ruined the film for me. Because if a classroom of kids went missing like that for real, well, we all know the media coverage would be insane.

Steven Spielberg says Zach Cregger’s Weapons has arrested his desire to make a horror film.
“When I see a great horror film like Weapons, I don’t have an itch I need to scratch,” the director tells Empire. “It satisfied me so completely.”
