@ScottBarrettDFB Resultingly—and against personal interest—I find “intelligence” to be overrated in general. It may (or may not) correlate with many things we care about, but our friend Charles Goodhart had much to say about over-indexing on proxies, however reasonable.

@ScottBarrettDFB IME, intelligence is usually used as a catch-all proxy for a bundle of mental traits that genuinely matter (curiosity, pattern recog., lateral thinking, accuracy, rigor, discipline)—most of which don’t need a proxy, many of which are virtually orthogonal to IQ in the first place.

But there’s this weird gulf between the knowledge that when other people use AI, it merits suspicion and the belief that when they use AI, it’s infallible. I was just floored that my generation fought and died* for the right to use a calculator and it was apparently for naught.

It’s funny because in a lot of ways, this generation is way more AI savvy. We were talking about social media literacy as a family and the youths are *much* quicker to call bullshit on sketchy AI nonsense on socials than, say, my wife—who is by far the least Online of us.

I was helping my kid with his math homework and all of the steps were right but we’d get to the answer and it was completely nonsensical. I asked how he was getting that number and he told me he was just typing the operation into Google and writing out whatever the AI returned.

This just in: More than half of U.S. teens have used A.I. chatbots for schoolwork like help solving math problems, a new Pew Research report finds. And nearly 60 percent of teens said students at their schools often used chatbots to cheat. nytimes.com/2026/02/24/tec…

Rashee Rice is being sued in Dallas County Courts for more than $1 Million dollars from allegations of domestic abuse involving his ex-girlfriend Dacoda Jones. Here's what I found in the complaint and my surprising conclusion about his 2026 prospects. #FFLegalUpdate 1/

@Mr_Detroit_Lion @pgconb Harrison’s ST tackle went down in the game book, too. We’re talking about public acknowledgement. For some reason, the public only seems to give credit to STers for their coverage when all they did was ST coverage. So, e.g., Slater and Tasker yes, Harrison and Patterson no.

Steelers James Harrison with a big ST hit in 2005. Though, for whatever reason, only players that were career ST players get credit for making these types of plays.

@StephStradley Wasn’t just yesterday, though. It was 18 months ago, according to Google.

Are there any good search engines left? Info I know existed is very hard to impossible to find on @Google, even with very specific search terms. Search on @x is mostly dead. AI often just makes stuff up. Like I don’t need flying cars, just miss web stuff I took for granted.

Recording yourself as a performer — that can mean musician, actor, podcaster, presenter, coach, or athlete —is the most sobering and insightful way to ultimately improve your craft. What you observe vs what you thought you observed is often a wide gap.
Coach Dan Casey@CoachDanCasey

Bill Walsh filmed every meeting. Every day, he reviewed what he said to the team to become a more effective communicator. This is how you master your craft.

Jack (still hacked out of his Twitter account) wrote this as his process solution. I agree the HOF should do something different. I don't think Jack quite solves it. That other guy that had a list of 8 gets it most wrong (Ralph Vacchiano), imo. readjack.wordpress.com/2026/02/13/pro…

@LaverneusDingle @pgconb I’d also say if some non-seniors voters care passionately and want some say, just expand the seniors committee to include them. (Knowing full well that just makes the logistics that much harder—not my problem.)

@AdamHarstad @pgconb I think I agree. If a seniors committee can produce three names, maybe those names should just go right in. It's not like there is a paucity of deserving seniors.

@RussellJClay I’m in favor of the NCAA being absolutely miserable with the system they had forced on them because they had a hundred years to do the right thing and fought tooth and nail against it.

With that said, if Chambliss makes like 6 mil this year off college football…. Then who the heck cares what randoms on the internet think. College sports are in a bizarre place. Never thought I’d be against the players getting money, but here we are 🤣

While I don’t blame all the mid-20s adults for trying to swoop back into college to get a bag of cash…. I can also be repulsed by it. I found something about the Trinidad Chambliss thing bizarre, strange and quite frankly, disgusting. This 25 year old Kyren Walker? Come on.
