@CoachDistance We do it with upper motivated kids only- generally 20'-30', but there are occasions where both runs are in the 40' range, due to schedule, heat, etc...

If you have your athletes double, how long is the extra run?

@coachjayjohnson That is a crazy number! Comparison: New Mexico has 2.1 mil ppl, relatively the same climate, topography & altitude and we have 4 girls at the mark you cited. Adjusted for pop, that would put us a 22 girls - we're far off that.

There are 62 girls with a PR of 5:10 or faster in CO going into State. I'll stand by a 6 sec conversion, per the document below. But let's say it's only 5 sec, so 5:05. CA likely has as many - as they should given their size - but CO is stacked. nextmilerecruiting.com/niwot-2026-met…
