We have a poetry post outside our house, where I put a new poem twice a month. Yesterday an anonymous "11 year old poet" wrote their own poem on the sidewalk next to the post— and it's awesome. "Peace" ⬇️ Need more 11 year-old (and 25 yo and 80 yo) poets in the world. #poetry

🚨 U.S. HIGH SCHOOL 2-MILE RECORD 🚨 Teays Valley (OH) senior Katy Zang DOMINATES the Championship 2 Mile field at New Balance Nationals Indoor, breaking the tape in a new high school record of 9:37.15, 1.53 seconds off Mary Cain’s 13-year-old mark. Zhang had an 11-second gap on the field at the halfway mark and never took her foot off the gas, as the Indiana commit ended up taking the win by over 15 seconds. #NBNationals

What strikes me most about this video isn't the technical brilliance, the soaring charisma or the sense of moment that Mondo possesses, though of course, all of that is true. I'm struck by how beloved he is by his fellow vaulters. His achievement is theirs. What a brotherhood.

10 years ago today, I was begging my classmates at Southern Oregon to take a sports reporting class with George Dohrmann. Barely anybody listened to me, but I’m so glad I took that class. My first sports writing class. Changed me forever. 10 years later, still going strong!

This is pretty cool: My dad Pat retired from coaching XC and T&F at @lschs in 2010. On Saturday, a group of guys from his last year coaching got together at the @ott_center to race a DMR— running as Devine Track Club —and broke 11 minutes! Solid running for guys in their 30s. 💪
