Celebration all across Republic of Somaliland

@dannydanon Israel has recognized what the rest of the world failed to acknowledge for over thirty years: our right to be recognized as an independent state. We welcome and appreciate this step.

The UN Security Council will convene on Monday for an urgent session following Israel's recognition of the Republic of Somaliland. We will not shy away from political discussions. Israel will continue to act responsibly and with discretion, in order to strengthen cooperation with partners who contribute to regional stability.

שמחתי לשוחח לפני זמן קצר עם נשיא סומלילנד אבדירחמן מוחמד עבדילאהי ביום חשוב זה לשתי המדינות. בשנה האחרונה, על בסיס שיח מקיף ומתמשך, נרקמו היחסים בין ישראל לסומלילנד. בעקבות החלטת ראש ממשלת ישראל בנימין נתניהו ונשיא סומלילנד אבדירחמן מוחמד עבדילאהי - חתמנו היום על הכרה הדדית וכינון יחסים דיפלומטיים מלאים, שיכללו גם מינוי שגרירים ופתיחת שגרירויות. נעבוד יחד לקידום היחסים בין המדינות והעמים, היציבות האזורית ושגשוג כלכלי. הנחיתי את משרדי לפעול באופן מיידי למיסוד הקשרים בין המדינות במיגוון תחומים.
